That was I. The super villain hahahahaha. Hey, i m about giving a guy a second chance. I think he did ok on his first coaching job. I liked his defense. He turned a purely offensive oriented team into a solid defensive team. His offense not so much, he screwed up big time on that, but thibs offense wasn't so great either. Mike D wasn't so great on his first NBA job either, right.

Wow. You hate the guy so much?!? We are talking about a guy who just coached a Team, that won it all just one year after he was removed. I would give him some kind of credit for that. I live in europe and don't have all the access to the us tv channels you guys have. So i dont know him that much as a tv analyst and commentator. Is he so bad at it? Does he say stupid things as a commentator? If so i'm sorry i voted for him. Here some numbers from his seasons with the warriors:

I agree with everything in this post.

I don't know if Hoiberg can necessarily be used as a positive example of successful college coaches in the NBA, especially this early in the season. In fact the stories I remember glancing over seems to suggest some serious discontent in his ability to lead that team, particularly after the loss to the Suns. I would not move Hornacek, he clearly isn't a guy that can handle knuckleheads but he also deserves a chance to coach a team without said knuckleheads.

As for replacements, if it were to happen, I would not want Thibs on this team. Or D'Antoni. In this day and age where the game is changing so quickly, I have trouble with coaches who are so fixed on their styles that they are not willing to play younger players or give their key players rest despite the clear drawbacks of their ways.

Also no fan of Scott Brooks... If you thought Hornacek had no offensive strategy... Ugh. McHale as well... he's been known as a "player's coach" which is euphemism for "friendly with players but doesn't coach."

I've been pretty consistently anti-Hornacek this season, but if he is finally willing to switch gears and run with the young guys, I'm happy to keep him aboard. Let's hope this is an enduring change.

D'Antoni absolutely would play Devin Booker. Probably 48 minutes per game.

True. Still remember Steven Hunter though. I get that he doesn't fit the style, but an 8 man rotation with complete disregard to defense always bothered me, even if I loved every minute of the ssol days.

I am not sure how it could work with him signing this year as associate head coach with the Bulls, but I really like Jim Boylen. He has a great credentials. He has coached under Popovich, Izzo, Heathcote, Vogel, Tomjanovich, and now Hoiberg. He is known for his defensive coaching. He has also done well as a shooting coach. Some articles say you can credit the Spurs shooting style to him. Including both FG and 3pt improvements to Parker, Leonard, Belinelli, Mills, and Green. He has been to the finals several times and has 3 rings. He has been in charge of recruiting, scouting, game preparation, player skill development, practice preparation, teaching perimeter players, positioning, shooting, recognition, video room, head coaching, and assistant coaching. He has almost 30 years of coaching experience. He has ridiculous blue collar work ethic, he is hard nosed, he has excelled working with big men earlier in his career and now put together a nice track record with perimeter players. I love the way he handles the media very Pop like. Players that have worked with him say that they find him loyal. The only drawback I see is I am not sure what his offensive style really is although he seems like he is not afraid to let rookies play. I think that will be important for us. If he picks up the fast pace stuff Hoiberg likes to do this season then maybe he could be a good defensive hybrid coach for us next?

I liked all that you'd said in that post, but I guess to me I'd rather ride this out with Hornacek. We've got enough instability already on this team. Just please move Markieff, get something tangible in return, and Tucker too if we can. I'd give Tucker to OKC and take a couple of second rounders back around trade deadline time, if Tucker could hit a couple of corner threes. But I really wouldn't make coaching changes just for the sake of making it. This team wasn't going to be great from the get go, let's focus on talent development and not so much on the final record. I don't mind having a few extra ping pong balls at this point.
