How can you support Man U and Liverpool? That's like being a Spurs fan.

Re: Everything Soccer
I find the terminology soccer fans use interesting. Clubs, support, matches, pitch, Instead of teams, root, games, field. Funny stuff.
Love, Hurts.

Re: Everything Soccer
I think the terminology is rooted in general UK/Europe vernacular more so than just soccer fans, but I agree, it's pretty interesting. I'm inclined to think American soccer fans adopt the terminology because we're generally perceived to be ignorant about the sport by foreigners, which I believe largely stems from us having a different sport called football.
I sort of go back and forth with words that mean the same thing, but I hardly ever use pitch instead of field or boots instead of cleats for some reason. I think support(er) and club tend to go together because all (I think) soccer clubs were started and/or owned by local communities at their inception. Kind of a different feel from the franchise model we've seen throughout the history of professional sports in America.

Re: Everything Soccer
I just watched the highlights, and what an ass whipping...
I wonder if Pep will stay there or be tempted to move to Manchester United.

Re: Everything Soccer
Props to Alves (who let's say he is no favorite of mine) for taking it so well. Balotelli once said that if somebody ever threw a banana at him he'd climb to the seats to kill the guy. The truth is that everywhere there is some retard that calls hem monkeys and worse things, but he handled it beautifully.

Re: Everything Soccer
Only Jose could pull off the lazy Sunday look for the biggest league match of the year. Well, him and Tony Pulis' baseball cap.
