GameStop is offering you 400 bucks in credit if you turn in your PS5 towards a pro, that's if they don't go outta business before it drops.
How do they make a profit on that? Seems like a lot to pay for a used console. Are they really going to be able to turn around and resell the used PS5s for more than $400?

I'm addicted to Astro Bot at the moment. It is magical. A feast of sound, visual, and haptic feedback. So fun.

I've heard nothing but great stuff about it. When I get my new tv it's on my list. My TV is old and, on the outs, and just holding out for black friday sales to snag a nice 77", 144hz OLED. Just re-upped my ps+ too.

One game I'm dying for them to bring back is guitar hero.... Was such a fun family game to play together.

Oh, man. We had so much fun with that game. That one and Rock Band.

Guitar Hero 2 was the peak. Rock Band was also excellent. It's too bad that the company that made the game (Harmonix) got acquired and left the series, because later GH games really didn't have the same quality level to them. I think music games like that are a dead genre that should be brought back. There's been a bit of a backlash against "family friendly" or "gimmicky" games since the Wii died out, but I think there's a clear subset of games like DDR and GH that are just fun and active and accessible to lots of gamers. They should bring it back!

Lately I'm playing a Steam game called The Plucky Squire. It's sort of a 2D Zelda game but it has a cute graphical style where it looks like a drawn cartoon in a book. But as you go from screen to screen, the book turns to the next page, and you can see the 3D environment around the book like the desk and room, and that 3D environment actually affects the gameplay. It's weird and very cool; very creative indie game! I'm also playing Zelda Echoes of Wisdom which is cute and delightful. 2D Zeldalikes ftw!

Looks pretty good... Will keep it on my watch list. Really dig the switch from 2d to 3d.

It's super cool. I've been playing with my almost 5 year old daughter. I let her play parts then she gives me the controller when it's too difficult for her. Great experience.

Your kid is already five!? Oh my goodness, another time where I've been bitch slapped with the passage of time...

Playing games with my kids was some of our favorite experiences as they grew up. My oldest turned 30 last month!!!!!!!

I was just texting with him from Rome where his company is sponsoring a hackathon and he is mentoring.

I have also been playing this cute little pixel platformer called "Dadish" - about a dad who is a radish, who lost his baby radish children - with my kids. It is sort of easy at first and then gets harder, not quite Meat Boy hard but still hard. But my older kids, ages 5 and 6, like it a lot, and it's a very simple game; just the stick / D-pad for movement and a button to jump and double-jump. And my 6-year-old enjoys reading the funny text and dialogue after each level.

I will surely check this out! Available on Switch? We only have Switch and PC.

Picked up plucky squire on ps+ and added it to my backlog.

Picked this up on pc…. It’s also on ps5 and has crossplay. The new 1.0 update has had decent reviews.

Its one of those shows I want to go back and finish but usually squirrel out to something else.
Yeah. I LOVE videogames too! :) I ordered (shipping today!) a Steam Deck OLED. Very excited for it to arrive!

I LOVE indie games. That's what I mostly play these days. I will also sprinkle in Hitman: World of Assassination (just got back into this, so good!) and Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil Village, Returnal and a couple other bigger name games. See how Cyberpunk does at a few different settings. I've got the gaming PC though for most AAA games (3440x1440, 34" curved ultrawide OLED with G-Sync and 175hz, 4080 Super, 12700k, 32gb DDR5 RAM). Been playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 (while 2024 continues to iron out some gnarly bugs) in wireless VR with the HOTAS!

Current indies I've been hooked on:
- Pizza Tower
- The Rogue Prince of Persia
- Balatro
- Dead Cells
- Wizard of Legend II
- Risk of Rain Returns
- Windblown
- Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
- Hades 2
- Curse of the Dead Gods
- Phantom Abyss
- Slay the Spire
- Enter the Gungeon
- Vampire Survivors

Sick list and setup! My monitor is the Alienware with same specs and my second monitor is a 27” LG 144hz gsync and my pc is pretty similar too…. 4090, 12900k raptor lake, 64gb ram, 4tb ssd. At some point I want a good vr system but waiting for it to come down in price some.

New Indiana jones game drops in a couple of days that’ll require that beefy system 😉
