There's no point in eating his contract now because nobody's winning with that team, and they are paying him a ton.

The worst ever record for a "full" is 7-59 (.106) by Charlotte in 2011-12. Detroit is on a pace for 7-75 (.083)

I think almost everyone wanted Ayton to either play better or be traded. The popular choice was for the Myles Turner. Guess what, the Pacers are doing just fine with Turner on their roster. What gets me is that they fired the Ayton hater Monty and replaced him with Vogel, who said he was excited to work with Ayton, then they made another horrible trade for Nurkic.

It was almost universal by fans to have Cam Johnson replace Crowder in the starting line up. Crowder did not like that, probably because his contract was up that year and wanted to be considered a starter. Gambo has no idea what problems Crowder was causing in the locker room.

The Genius Gambo needs to throw his hate for Monty towards Ishbia, Jones, Vogel and Bud. They are who followed Monty as the ones making the player decisions and coaching decisions to send this team into the abyss. I think we all would hope for a team that could make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Monty's not here, stay in the present. The combination of Monty and CP3 worked out pretty well for this franchise.

Would've been in the playoffs in the bubble without CP had you-know-who not gotten suspended those first 25 games of the season.

Those statements may be true (although the first one was true only on this board), but that doesn’t mean Monty handled the situations correctly. Or anywhere close to decent.

You don’t just call up a veteran player in the middle of the summer to tell them they aren’t going to win the starting spot in training camp. He was trying to sabotage things so he didn’t have to coach him anymore—all behind the GM’s back (and behind Sarver’s back).

Jae was not causing locker room problems as far as his teammates were concerned—they were all on his side and wanted him with the team.

Likewise with Deandre—just because you wish your GM had traded him instead of resigning him, doesn’t mean you can’t be at his contract signing or at least call him to congratulate him. And instead not even speak to him all summer? How petty! Not to mention completely unprofessional and detrimental to the team’s future success!

And if he really hated coaching multiple players so much, he should have just resigned his position, instead of undermining the roster that the front office had constructed.

If Booker had become more vocal like this season, Monty would have been the one calling him into his office telling him to “tone it down” and “let the coach’s voice be heard” like Bud just did. He would have wanted Booker gone like he did Jae. And he would have handled it less professionally than Bud.

I think you are making an incorrect inference. I don’t doubt Monty thought Crowder was difficult, but that’s quite different than assuming he’d want Booker traded for talking and trying to lead. He didn’t want CP3 traded and he’s clearly a yapper. I think it’s obviously more about how Crowder was doing it.

The issue is when the player is disagreeing with the coach or emphasizing something different than what the coach is, not simply being a vocal leader like CP3. Although there were reports of him getting into fights with Monty toward the end of Monty’s tenure here. I’m sure neither Monty nor Bud would mind if the player is simply amplifying the coach’s message.

Seems kind of common that players who are washed think the coach don't like them.

This thread just becoming the Ayton thread 2.0. Basically boiling down to another guy who disrespected and sabotage Ayton. Yall shouldn’t entertain this silliness. Monty didn’t workout. No has since him either. Oh well.

We don’t actually know what the issue is…you are making assumptions. That level of detail has not been reported

It is weird that we’re still complaining about 3 coaches ago when we’ve had two coaches since do an even worse job. I’m good to move on from this discussion.
