There wouldn’t be much of a need to rebuild this team if he did in fact come over. You’d have 4 of 5 starters…you’d have Grayson and Royce on the bench. Trade 31 and Nurk for a floor stretching big and then just add vet min ring chasers. Not much else you can do.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 8:17 amDunno what I think about bringing LeBron over. I honestly don't think it will happen, so I'm not to concerned. But here's what I would consider as a fan.
He always rebuilds teams he goes to. He has never won a title in his first season on a new team. Do we have the roster flexibility to make the trades the would push for? Maybe not because of how few young players and picks we have. In any case, we would have to believe that he will be good enough to lead us to a title 2 or 3 years from now, because for sure it would take at least one more summer to settle the roster and coaching situation.
Doesn't LeBron always brings in a bunch of Klutch guys?Split T wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 8:31 amThere wouldn’t be much of a need to rebuild this team if he did in fact come over. Does he? Tristan Thompson got paid by being Klutch and playing with LeBron. I guess AD is Klutch. Those are the only two Klutch guys in LA though. Nurk is actually a Klutch client. Oh, Jarred Vanderbilt is Klutch too.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 9:09 amDoesn't LeBron always brings in a bunch of Klutch guys?Split T wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 8:31 amThere wouldn’t be much of a need to rebuild this team if he did in fact come over. And I don't think that team you are describing is a good team. Seems like the it would have the same chemistry, identity, and play style issues that we had last season.

I can’t say if they’ve always been Klutch, but KCP, THT, Troy Brown, Harrell, Lonzo, Lonnie Walker, and Kendrick Nunn are all Klutch guys that the Lakers moved off of while LeBron was here. So he’s clearly not set on acquiring and keeping Klutch guys.
I think the team would definitely be good. What have we been lacking the most? A leader on the court that can run the offense and allow Book and KD to play off ball. I think you’d still have defensive issues obviously, but LeBron does add size and rebounding and lets KD slide to the 3 or gives you a bigger body if you want to play small.
I’d want Beal to come off the bench and start someone who can defend next to Book. Is the team a contender? Yes I think so…they wouldn’t be some overwhelming favorite though. They would have 3 top 15 guys in the league though. You’d have to make it work, but tons of talent there…them playing together in Paris would be nice too.
I don’t see any reason for the Lakers to try to play hardball. Just take Bronny at 17 and Dad will stick around.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 10:12 amhttps://x.com/saul_bookman/status/1795 ... 28307?s=46
It’s feeling beyond conspiracy at this point. Suns are trying to roll out the red carpet for Bronny to get Lebron here. The question is how much the Lakers try to negotiate from their place of leverage when clearly Lebron can just buy a franchise like the Suns to develop his son how he wants to. Coach Bud im sure is aware of the game plan ahead of time.
I’m A oh kay with LBJ not coming. But I accept that so long as we’re just trying superstar our way into winning, we might as well. Perhaps the Lakers want a pick, they can have our first round pick plus Nurk for Gabe Vincent and Vanderbilt —both were injured last year for the Lakers and were sort of busts but I think would be awesome additions for us.Cap wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 10:17 amI don’t see any reason for the Lakers to try to play hardball. We could use ‘31 to leapfrog the Lakers in the draft, but we’d have to be very confident LBJ is coming if we did that.
The defensive issues that you flagged would be too much to overcome in my opinion. A LeBron led team got pumped 4-1 by the Nuggets and we got swept by the Timberwolves. How does putting LeBron with this team allow us to contain either of those teams, let alone the Mavs or Celtics? The leadership and ball handling he'd bring would offset some of the issues we had this year but he barely moves the needle defensively.Split T wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 9:23 amDoes he?
