It is weird that we’re still complaining about 3 coaches ago when we’ve had two coaches since do an even worse job. I’m good to move on from this discussion.
Aside from game day threads every other thread devolves into revisionist history.
Can we all agree that Monty Williams had very little success in New Orleans, then had a couple of very good years here before things fell apart and then was a disaster in Detroit.
As for the coaches since he left Vogel and Budenholzer both came here with championships on the resumes, but have failed because of their limitations and the poor roster construction by the front office.
Taken individually I can understand firing all three. Taken collectively it indicates to me that there have been some deficiencies that can't be pinned on the coach - either bad coaching choices, bad personnel choices or both. I would say both with the scale tilted more toward bad personnel choices. Their trail of questionable personnel choices includes multiple GMs and owners however.

All I know is we should have signed Joe Johnson for 5 mil more.

And Joe Kleine shouldn’t have fallen on Danny Manning’s knee. Or Randy Livingston on Tom Gugliotta’s.

Gambo is covering James Jones, and Ishbia's asses for making horrible roster decisions.
Now he just says we need to move on from those moves while throwing crap at Monty. I think the KD acquisition really pissed off Monty, like the rest of us. However, as you say the choices that Ishbia and Jones made in replacement coaches have worse records than Monty had.
Gambo is also up KD's ass as well. He keeps saying he needs to be traded to where he wants to go. Why? I do not care about his stats. This team did not get better with his acquisition. We should get the best deal possible, screw KD.
Bottom line our future was bright prior to the KD trade, with Monty as our head coach. He was not perfect, but our team was fun to watch.

Whether or not he is happy where he gets traded is the problem of whomever trades for him. Certainly a bottom feeder isn't going to trade for him because of his age, but if Oklahoma City, Houston or another team comes along with an order that appealing to the Suns, you pull the trigger.

Let's not kid ourselves - when they traded for Durant it was in part because they had slipped from the contenders in the West, and the main reason for that was the decline of Chris Paul. And they have never adquately replaced Paul. Trading Paul for Beal was a mistake because it created a redundancy at SG without addressing their biggest need - PG.

And removed all leadership with the "unbothered" phase. KD is about playing basketball. The outcome doesn't matter.

The real problem with CP3 was the mysterious playoff collapse. Over and over again. Let's not kid ourselves.
