It depends on how you view Brown/Smart vs. Chriss/Bender.

But yes, to me #4, Chriss/Bender, Miami '18, and a top 9 future 1st from the Suns is a better package than what the C's are likely offering. We could also swap Chandler and take on Noah easily where Boston can not.

Boston could trump any offer though. They've got Brooklyn's unprotected first next year and the Lakers/kings pick they got from Philly. Not to mention they can just take Jackson and force NY to trade with them.

I guess it comes down to players on our rosters and how the Knicks value them.

Agreed. Boston can offer better picks, but we can offer better players and/or offer to take back more salary.

And we might be more willing to over-pay.

C's have spoken to Minnesota about acquiring #7 (don't know for what.)

That could give the Knicks Brown/Smart, Jackson, Ntilikana/DSJ, Markkanen.

Idk...

Gambo says nothing will happen with the Suns for Porzingis. Looks like we're out.

Thats ok, as much as I'd love to have Zinger, I dont know that emptying out the asset pool for him does much for our long term prospects.

Alright. Deep breath. I'm letting it go.

According to our very own JCSunsfan on another board:
Chad Ford just told Bickley that the Knicks have "painted themselves into a corner" and he does not see how they could bring Porzingis back.

That's what I'm thinking. And some of the NY media (MSG hacks) are saying Phil isn't "actively shopping" Porzingis, just taking the calls because that's his job. Well, I don't think you take calls and talk deals with teams if you're not considering trading the guy. Nor do you throw his name out there to "send a message" to him either. And if they're trying to cover themselves in case he's not traded by saying they're "just taking calls", good luck with that. At some point, you reach the point of no return.

Yes I agree that relationship has to be fractured but does that mean Phil has to make a move this offseason. I think Porzingis rookie contract has two more years and I definitely don't see both being there going past then so long term/next year when up for extension is more a problem than right now.

I agree with the implication that Jackson may not be there long.

I also kind of remember Phil talking smack about Kobe in his book, then going back to coach the Lakers. That happened, right?

I'm not convinced that bridges are burned, but I sure hope we get Porzingis.

There's a quote I read in an article this week from a D'angelo postgame last year when he had 30+ pts and he was saying basically that it is cool to have the green light more like an off guard but when at pg you can't come down and shoot without making a pass so sometimes playing is harder
