You guys should not doubt Haliburton!
This is going to be a really fun series!

That one decision alone was enough of a reason to fire him.Wally_West wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:36 pmFuck James Jones, picking Jalen Smith. Dumb fuck.
We’d have a championship by now. I don’t think that’s a hyperbolic thing to say neither.
That's 12 GM's that should be fired?JeremyG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:34 pmThat one decision alone was enough of a reason to fire him.Wally_West wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:36 pmFuck James Jones, picking Jalen Smith. Dumb fuck.

At least he'll replace Joe Johnson for awhile regarding "what-if".
There were some good players picked above him, but Jalen Smith was not one of them. We needed a point guard to replace Chris Paul since we knew he only had a couple good years left. Every single person assumed we were taking Haliburton when he fell to us. It was the most obvious, consensus pick ever.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 11:28 amThat's 12 GM's that should be fired?JeremyG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:34 pmThat one decision alone was enough of a reason to fire him.Wally_West wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:36 pmFuck James Jones, picking Jalen Smith. I know that and you know that but was every player a better choice than Haliburton before he was finally drafted 12th?JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:58 pmThere were some good players picked above him, but Jalen Smith was not one of them. Yes it was very obvious, but it seems weird to say we needed a pg to replace CP3 before he even played for us. Hali was more of a hybrid guard at the time. Similar to Lonzo, there were concerns about his half court shot making. Playmaking was always considered very high level though.JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:58 pmThere were some good players picked above him, but Jalen Smith was not one of them. When you’re trading for a point guard who’s turning 36, you don’t have the luxury of being shortsighted. They needed to have a longer term plan, and one just happened to fall into their laps. But being shortsighted seems to be the organization’s biggest problem over the last several years.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 9:29 pmYes it was very obvious, but it seems weird to say we needed a pg to replace CP3 before he even played for us.
