I feel like the Cavs play poker like Michael Scott.

Listening to Bill Simmons and he thinks the Suns are crazy to not make Jackson available in a Kyrie trade. However, he doesn't think Boston should trade Tatum for Kyrie. I enjoy Simmons, but not when he's a Boston homer, which I guess is always, but any take he has involving Boston is invalid. His Boston trade is IT, Crowder and two future Boston 1sts for Kyrie. That feels about the same as bled/Warren/Miami 1st.

Yep, homer take. Easy for him to say this about the Suns.

Kyrie and Frye feels like easily the most value for Cleveland but maybe I'm just being a Suns homer.

Simmons needs to go back to the drawing board and calculate in the factor of leverage being lost by Cleveland. Also, I agree that the Suns seem to be giving up the most.

I think Denver makes the most sense as a trade partner. If Denver can put Kyrie/Millsap/Jokic together, they can break into the top 4 out west. I'm not high on Murray, but he was listed in a report by Woj as one of the 4 young prospects Cleveland was after. If they'd really accept a trade based around Murray, Denver should jump on it.

IT: The only guy in the league with a better ORPM and worse DRPM than Kyrie.

They are very similar players. Kyrie is a bit more efficient as a shooter, but IT draws a lot more fouls. Neither play defense, IT because he is 5'9, I'm not sure what Kyrie's excuse is.

If I were a Cleveland fan and I saw Kyrie shipped out with Murray being the best piece to come back, oof. I'd riot.

Is your star approaching free agency with no intention to resign? Is he tired of being on a fringe playoff team, or doesn't get along with your better stars? Do you simply want to rebuild and wait out the Warriors?

Time is on our side here. Doing nothing is a completely viable option for us. Kyrie isn't a huge upgrade, and Bledsoe isn't demanding a trade.

Conversely, doing nothing is NOT an option for Cleveland. Irving must be traded before camp starts.

Agreed. If anything, we're in the driver's seat because we have the best immediate talent (Bledsoe), some very good young talent (Warren/Chriss/Bender) and picks. We also don't HAVE to make a trade. Unless the Knicks talk Porzingis (which they won't), I don't think other teams can match what we have. Denver has some nice young talent, same with Orlando but they won't give LeBron a legit chance to win.

I don't think stocking up on JUST young assets and picks is really an option. The Cavs can't not compete this year right?

Not sure if it's relevant, because I can't really picture the Spurs making a good package offer for Kyrie. But if this rumor is true, it is telling that he'd commit to re-signing there but not here. As somebody who is hoping the Kyrie deal does get made with Phoenix, I am hoping this Spurs rumor is false or spread by some other party to influence public opinion.

Great, he can sign an extension and average 18 and 5 playing 29 mpg.

All the available information suggests that Irving, if we trade for him, will be a two-year rental.

Yes, it's possible that he will both stay and be worth more than the salary we'd have to pay him, but the odds are against it. Wishful thinking is a poor substitute for smart planning. "Let's hope that everything we've heard is a lie and bet big on that being the case" is a foolish attitude, even in this era of alternative facts.

And just because he would be willing to re-sign in San Antonio doesn't mean teams like Phoenix should be willing to offer more now to get him.

You have to weigh what you're willing to pay for two years of him, and figure if he changes his mind and re-signs here, that's gravy.

If you're New York or San Antonio, you can afford to offer more because you're getting more in return.

I am done with Kyrie. I have moved on. He doesn't make any sense for us unless you want to scrap #TheTimeline. I don't want to get the 8th seed in the West or even worse, 9-12th.

Truth is that we are on the dog days of NBA offseason, and this is the only history alive, so "journalist" will put out there whatever gets them a couple clicks, no need to be serious about it. If we were that relevant, that Bledsoe's "I want to win" line would have been milked at nauseam.

And judging by how over reacting is the crowd around here for every supossedly headline: "I'm done with him", "In such case, I don't want him on the team", "after reading that, I'm pretty sure that..."; I can't say the Media is playing this wrong, they are makings us dance just by clapping their hands twice.

"Get they guy if the fit is good enough and the price is right", that should be the motto no just for Irving. Now, is almost imposible that we all agree on the answers for both requirements.

But it looks like we are in no hurry to get him, so the Cavs are the one with a problem in their hands, and his far, not one of the headlines are pressing our hand, I prefer to read about that bogus Spurs extension, that get one about Suns' extension. Those kind of headlines are the ones that makes us go out and chase the LaMarcus and Griffins, like teenage fans of a BoyBand. This one only help us to solidify our position in a lowball offer.

Cavs still feel no pressure, and are willing to play chicken on trading Kyrie, believing that teams will give better deals as training camp looms. I certainly hope not. I hope the Cavs GM chokes on this deal, as another day passes and now it's clear that this is LeBron's last year in Cleveland.
