Congrats To Elon Musk: I Didn’t Think You Had It In You To File A Lawsuit This Stupid. But, You Crazy Bastard, You Did It!

There's no way he wins that lawsuit, right? I'm no lawyer, but it seems like protected speech to me, even if MediaMatters presented some incomplete or misleading info. I wasn't able to find any deliberate falsehoods, and defamation cases are hard to win.

LOL, ok. So they are bringing back the visible titles on images, which they finally are implicitly admitting they messed up.

Good article by Greg Sargent (who gets it about the threat to the country posed by the GOP) on the Elon Musk / MAGA GOP alliance.

Lately a decent fraction of the ads I see on Twitter/X are for sex toys (!). And no, wiseguys, it isn't because of my viewing history, haha. Looks like I'm not the only one ...

This is more of a union thing but it involves Musk:
Quote: “This is insane”

Elon Musk seemingly can’t comprehend what’s happening in Sweden. The country’s postal workers are refusing to deliver Tesla license plates, the latest action resulting from 130 mechanics who want their union recognized by the car company. Other workers in Sweden—where about nine out of 10 employees are union members—have supported the mechanics in ways that Musk may not consider sane: Along with the country’s postal workers, dockworkers are blocking Tesla deliveries to the country’s ports and electricians are no longer availing their services for Teslas.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I hope he files another “thermonuclear” lawsuit. The last one he filed is hilarious. I also hope he files it in Texas or something stupid like that.

Yeah I read that Tesla is having real trouble over in Sweden because they basically can't get anything past the union solidarity over there. It's pretty interesting, an example of what it could be like in the US if unions and labor in general utilized more power. Unions have gotten a bad rap over here, and the Dems seem to have distanced themselves from them a bit. But labor power can force these gigantic corporations to give better treatment and benefits to their workers.

Big business and the Republican Party are against unions. Big business would prefer labor not be organized and just accept their pay and working conditions without question. It works out better for the company that way.

Republicans are pro business, not pro worker. Unions vote Democrat. Workers demanding better pay, safe working conditions, health care, etc. take money from away from the bottom line of a business. That is unacceptable. Unions bad. Big business good. Must demonize all unions.

The fact that a conservative bought Twitter and it promptly lost most of its value is all the proof we need that conservatives are being persecuted by liberals, and Musk will be remembered by history as the martyr who turned this war around by proving it? Did I get that right?

When was the last time that kind of nonsense “ended the career” of a right-winger? It’s what almost half the country wants to hear.

Not a fan of Musk. Too many childish insults like Trump does. Not a fan of the author either. Not really journalism when you start throwing out childish insults too.

Social media has transformed our world, connecting us globally while shaping how we communicate and share. It's a dynamic platform for expression, fostering connections, sparking discussions, and empowering voices. Yet, it also challenges us with information overload and privacy concerns. Striking a balance in its use is key to harnessing its immense potential positively. instaup

Thanks for joining in Lucky12. A new voice is always welcome.

With every new invention people find ways of using it for good and bad. Nuclear power can power entire cities and destroy entire cities. The internet can connect us all and misinform us all intentionally. AI has already achieved some great things and has already been used by people with bad intentions to tell a convincing lies or write their thesis. It’s going to be able to do a lot more harm than just make fake videos.

Striking a balance means regulating and not everyone wants to be regulated, especially those people who wish to do harm.

This is about traditional media, but I found it interesting. Almost no journalists are Republicans any more.
