Been playing "The Alters"....Saw a trailer for it a while back and dug the sci-fi premise.

About 10 hours in and enjoying it.

OOF... googling says Summer 2026 or 2027. Seems like a way off, then again, I felt the same way about Superman and that's out Friday :)

Couldn't resist and pulled the trigger on a Switch 2 on Sunday. Looking forward to the new 3D Donkey Kong tomorrow. Already downloaded it. Releases at midnight. Successor to Mario Odyssey and scoring super high with reviews. Mario Kart is Mario Kart. It's okay but I've never been a big Mario Kart guy. Replaying Zelda ToTK in 4k HDR on the LG C2 is a treat. Never got far in it so it's all pretty fresh for me.

It was available to play at 9 pm MST. I played it for three hours. It's a blast with lots to do. The fully destructible world is very cool. Yeah, I've been spending way too many early mornings playing TotK and I'm probably only half way into it at most.

A man with good taste. I played a little DK last night then again this morning (started over) so my 5 year old daughter could watch. She seems to enjoy it. She also likes watching me play TotK.

I loved gaming with my sons. Especially Zelda games. It was cool when they could start helping solving puzzles and then actually playing. Good memories.

I feel the Switch 2 is finally something more hardcore gamers will get behind because of the hardware being vastly improved. If/when I get the funds I might snag one.

On a side note... don't do what this guy did:

Yeah we popped into the Arrowhead GameStop two weekends ago and snagged one. They had just got a shipment of 17 that morning.

I'm currently playing Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta remake. Graphically fantastic although the controls are a little awkward. And man, Kojima sure fancies himself as a movie maker. I never played the original although the first MGS on Playstation One was one of my all-time favorite games.

I recently bought the new Donkey Kong: Bananza for Switch 2. But I have to say that it hasn't hooked me so far. It's sort of like Mario Odyssey (made by the same dev team), which I liked quite a lot. But the main mechanic is that you can punch and break basically all terrain in the entire level. That is kind of neat and creative, but it just makes me feel like the level layout doesn't matter, since you can just punch through it all anyway and go pretty much everywhere. DK feels like he has too many moves and I get the buttons mixed up (#okboomer). And the game and its characters, outside of DK himself, aren't very charismatic or appealing to me. I'm going to keep trying to get into it, but so far, meh. I find myself just going back to replay Tears of the Kingdom in 4K / 60fps, which is Chef's Kiss.

I've been addicted to TotK on the Switch 2. But haven't played for a bit now. (Got a lot going on.) But will get back to it in not too long and eventually finish it. Although I did dig my time with Bananza (pun intended) and look forward to getting back to it eventually.

Putting a lot of time into Silksong on Switch 2. Insane difficulty at times but a great game.

Quick update: I have been giving Bananza more time and it's grown on me. The first hour or two were not very fun, but the further in I got, the more the game opened up. It basically turns into Super Mario Odyssey but with a smash-the-walls mechanic. Lots of fun challenge rooms where you try to get through an obstacle course to get 1-2 bananas. I also found a life-saving setting where I was able to customize the buttons to make the jump button "B" again which my old brain really appreciated.
