What do people think of Bobby Portis? I've read a few things about him that sound good but haven't really seen him play

Hmm. I have no idea who the Suns might draft. Their choices seem to be all over the place:

Dekker, Oubre, Booker, Jerian Grant, and Cameron Payne (who didn't visit Phoenix) were all mentioned in this article as far as going for BPA regardless of position even if it means grabbing another PG or SF.

I really don't want another PG, unless it's D'Angelo Russell, and we can't get him.

I think Kaminsky has bust written all over him. Hopefully the Pacers will snap him up before us.

I don't know if the Cam Payne love for us is smokescreen or what. Usually, I'd say draft for talent and trade for need but i think drafting another PG would create more issues in the backcourt unless we know we're trading Bledsoe and/or not bringing back Knight. I think Cam Payne is rising tho and may not last past 10.

Seems like every player I like except Harrell is rising.
I'm starting to get a little bummed out by the 13th pick. I figured someone would drop & we'd get a decent prospect but unless we trade up I think we will have to settle for role player / fringe starter again.

That's what happens when you're a middling team. Not bad enough to get a great pick so you're stuck in the late lottery and have to really pick the right guy to hit it big.

Yeah. Not a fan either. Picking 13th really sucks. In particular because it really seems as if there are about 10 interesting candidates in it this year. I do agree that we have to get lucky to pick up a starter at our position. At this point in time I really doubt it will happen but maybe at least one of the second tier bigs (WCS or Turner) slips to us. #fingersCrossed
I cannot say why but I feel that Emmanuel Mudiay is going to be great. Neither our position of need nor in reach with our pick but still - I think he has what it takes to get there and be fantastic. I cannot believe he is 7th on some boards.
Too bad the trigger-happy Kings just hired Divac who seems to be really wary about doing something mega stupid right now. I was kind of hoping they would throw their 6th pick and the kitchen sink at us for Bledsoe and some fillers.
At the very least, I do trust our FO to not be the ones getting crazy nervous about the situation.
Three days left. Anything can happen.

I will be disappointed if the Suns draft a pg, unless its Russell.
I am really in the dark about this draft. I really do not want a player that is not a quality shooter unless he is a high quality defensive big like WCS. To me that leaves out Mudiay, Dekker, Stanley Johnson, Harrell, Lyles, and Payne.
I do not want a one-dimensional player. He must be able to be very good at at least two of: distribute, shoot, rebound, play D. To me, that leaves out Booker.
So. Players I would be happy to get: Turner, Kaminsky, Looney, WCS. Of course, there is a whole different group if somehow the Suns traded up.;

Why do you think Booker is a one dimensional player?

I second this question
I'm a Booker fan, I think his only knock are his short arms. He's a capable ball handler/passer, has a good feel, competes on D and is probably the best shooter in the draft. He's my #13 fave.

Same here. Really like Booker. Doubt he will be there at 13# but hope is all we got right now and some boards have us picking him, so who knows ...

Love it! I remember the original SNL skit where the track just keeps building and doesn't drop. Zinger isn't going first tho.

At this moment, I feel like the Suns chances are going to keep the pick at 65%, trade it away 30%, and trade up at 5%. I have a feeling that they will end up picking Portis, and we will be slightly unhappy, but hope for the best. He will end up being better at everything that we wish Markieff was better at. Bigger, better rebounder, tougher on both ends of the floor, and a better attitude. The only thing that we will be disappointed in as a comparison to Markieff is that he doesn't have the range on his jumper, yet.

Gimme a rugged 15/10 PF all day over a spacing 15/6 PF, fit be damned. I hate PF that rebound like guards.

Sporting News is reporting we've had talks with the Knicks about Bledsoe and 13 for the 4 pick. The Knicks supposedly really like Kaminsky and would trade back to take him. If he's there at 13 (and depending who the Knicks take at 4), there could be a post draft deal with those players involved.
Regardless, according to the Sporting News, we've been dangling Bledsoe in trades.
