I wouldn't mind moving Bledsoe if we can get value. Bledsoe is basically average and there are are a lot of average guards in the league. He really does seem to just coast. I don't think he has the desire to be great. It really does seem like a just a job to him. One he does pretty well at the NBA level but still just a job.

I think we are going to have to live with stigma of being a revolving door for awhile. It hurts us in free agency but currently we shouldn't expect free agents to save us. We just need to keep taking chances on young guys and if they don't turn out then ship them out and try again.

As for the draft even if we move both Bledsoe and Knight I don't want to draft a guard. Especially when there is no consensus big time guard in the draft. I'm about the height. More skilled big men 6'10 or taller. Even if you strike out with your pick an average big is worth more than an average guard.

Only if we continue to build in a counterproductive way.

I dunno. Bledsoe was a deal that was too good to pass up. A young guy that could possibly turn into a really good player. He cost us almost nothing and it just didn't pan out. If we keep getting opportunities like that we only need a couple to pan out. We just need to be a little better at knowing when to let go. :)

Are you referring to the Bledsoe trade or resigning him? The Bledsoe trade was a no-brainer. The decision to resign him, not so much.

Yeah, I wouldn't say 70 mil is almost nothing.

Exactly. And when they do, it is usually just a silver lining to a very dark cloud.

I think he meant to acquire him, but yeah, you have to look at what he has cost us since acquiring him too.

Come on guys. The doom and gloom is for when we hit X-mas and we have around 10 wins. It carries over until April. Then it is the off season and the draft approaches.
This is the time of the year where the sky is the limit.

We need at least a small part of the year where we can be optimistic. :)

Being optimistic about the future is very different than looking at the past with rose-colored glasses.

The money had to be spent on players regardless. I don't think we missed out on any prime free agents that were willing to sign with us because of that decision. Goran may have decided to stay with us and while he is better than Bledsoe he is also more expensive and might have walked anyways.

I think we can get a mid to late lottery pick for Bledsoe which would make the signing worth it.

I disagree. I don't see paying him 40M for 3 years of 50% effectivity (playing in only 66% of the games, and coasting a ton) as a good deal, even if we get to turn that into a #13 pick at some point. It was a bad deal. And the Knight deal just compounded it.

I'll be in full on optimistic mode after the draft. Looking forward to that and Summer League.

Bledsoe to the Knicks or Knight to the Sixers.

I can see 1 of these happening on draft night (or after).
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Some interesting stuff from Jimmy Butler on Bill Simmons' podcast.
"I'll tell you one player I do like. Devin Booker. I like that kid. He's young, he can really shoot it. He can get to the rim. He can play."
