Hmm...so much for the 2-year thing...
Might be a team option. Is that the BAE contract amount?
Since we had his rights, it's not the BAE. We still have that to spend.

Paul, Bridges, Crowder and Carter are going to be an annoying pest of a group to play against. Over/under on altercations this season?
Go Suns!

What I'm loving about this roster, is that it's now full of players that can shoot. We might not have any Duncan Robinson, Reddick, Bertans types, but we also don't have any Ben Simmons types either. And we don't have many players that are getting played off the court in matchups. Glad Kaminsky is gone, will be happier once Okobo is gone too. Super thrilled we don't have the Bender types anymore, that would miss open 3's. This is going to create a lot of space for Booker and Ayton to operate.

You mean the fact that we have actual NBA level players throughout the lineup? It is refreshing to not field a G league team which is sad to even say.

Could see this as a specialty lineup with Booker added in there in for offense.

Yes! But 3pt shooting gets you a winning record in this league. Doesn't win championships by itself, but gets you lots of wins in the regular season.

I wouldn’t mind adding a 3pt specialist to the end of the bench. Might be where someone like Bryn Forbes comes in. Or Langston Galloway.

Feel like that was a good contract for Carter. 3 years seems a bit much as he feels like a guy you’ll always want to upgrade, but the salary is low. Would be nice if it’s declining.

The best thing about Carter though is you know he works harder than anyone. You bring anyone in to take his job and he’s going to really make sure they earn it over him. I like that, pushes our guys to be better.

Very happy with the Carter contract. He deserves it. I hope he keeps up his bubble play.

So much for the Lakers making the Clippers worse. I actually love the Harrell-Ibaka change for LAC.

Apparently it is a 2 year/9M per contract. Absolute steal getting Ibaka for the MLE. His agent has failed him if the second year is not a player option.

Any chance we’re able to keep Baynes? Or is it a foregone conclusion that he’ll be gone?
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I m still hoping for it. market is drying out and we are one of eight Teams with the fewest Players. We can probably offer him a one year contract at a salary around 4-5 millions. I think he s worth it.

Really happy Carter is staying. Guys like that on the bench, in the lockerrroom, in practice are invaluable and are the ones who maintain the culture. He works hard, knows his role, is still young enough to improve and can change the game as soon as he steps onto the floor. Too often we're quick to swap those guys out think we can replace them.

Hopefully we can still bring back Saric but will probably lose Baynes unless he takes a discount. I'd still like to see a vet minimum center added and maybe another swing. Maybe Mahinmi or O'Quinn and Bazemore. I don't see the point of another PG if we have Carter and Payne and Monty's comfortable with them. I've some mention Galloway but i think he'd be redundant with Payne here. Reggie Jackson seems like an attitude guy but Bower is the one who signed him in Detroit so he would know best whether he'd be a good fit.

It puts us close to the luxury tax if we do. I just read that we have 21 million to spend right now before the luxury tax and need to fill 6 spots.

If we give 3 league minimum deals and use the BAE, that gives is about 11 million left. Is that enough for Saric and Baynes? I’m not sure what Saric is going to get, I was thinking 7 or 8 a year, but with the market it might be more like 10. We may not even use the BAE.

L-tax is at $139M. Including Carter, Payne, Nader and Smith, the Suns have $112M on the books, so they can spend non trivial money on both Saric and Baynes if they want to, which would be wise to do since you need to create salary mass for further moves in a win-now plan.

That’s 27 million, ESPN has us with only 21 million, but ya that extra 6 would help.
