wasn't sure where to post this, but Bill Simmons made an interesting point about the kings draft. Everyone has been gushing about their draft but he mentioned them as a draft night loser. He highlighted they could have drafted Monk at 10 which would have paired him and fox together again. Reuniting those guys may have again helped to create some long needed buzz nd good vibes for the kings. Could have then had a guard rotation of fox, hield and monk. That could be a heck of a rotation for years to come.
I hadn't really thought about the opportunity cost of that.

It would be interesting if they fired Phil and hired David Griffin.

If Phil is trying to drive away Porzingis, you have to at least consider getting rid of the guy (Phil). He also isn't on great terms with Carmelo. If his Frank Ntiklilklilknino pick works out well, you could make the case that he's doing well in the draft, but otherwise, oof.

Wiggins needs to be paired with a shooter, not another iso scorer.
but jimmy butler is a shooter (or has turned himself into one). His iso skills are not that good though. he's a talented 3 and D guy.

cause for celebration, especially for hornacek. too bad they drafted a guy because he is the best fit for the triangle offense.

I find this Fact from Mike & Mike earlier to be quite amazing, at first I thought it was a mistake

Over the last 15 years the Knicks have won 9 Playoff games which is the LEAST for ALL TEAMS in the league

Then when I think about it , the bad teams in the early 2000's like Grizz n Clippers are now playoff teams and the current bottom teams like us, Lakers, Kings, Nets and so on all were relevant few years ago. That is crazy for the Knicks to be for the most part simply bad for 15 years tho , wow lol

I'm sure the Knicks will go for Griff and sell LBJ coming next year. Melo, Porzingis, Hernangomez is a good mix. Whether it happens, who knows. I don't think LeBron is going anywhere just because Griffin is there.

Isiah is also the name Knicks fan fear and loath and I'm sure he'll be advising Dolan and/or Mills as FA gets under way. A lot of people have felt it was only a matter of time until he was brought back into the mix.

Not sure what led to the decision yesterday/today. I think Melo's reps went to the Knicks asking for a buyout and maybe that's where the split came. Mills is also a Garden guy and might have had a hand in things or sided with Dolan. A lot of politics at MSG. The timing is also curious. Less than a week after the draft and 3 days from FA. Maybe this was a signal to other players/FAs that this is a new start, no triangle, no execs throwing players under the bus? Just sucks bc if the Frank pick doesn't work out, they could've have DSJ, Monk or someone else who may be more impactful now.

lol

Not surprised. Isaiah is the only GM who has ever had any sway in NY. That's why I never really believed that KP, Melo, etc would all be on the block. Dolan wants to win, and he believes he has good players. He is going to want more good players like the ones he has.

Maybe we can talk them into taking Knight and Bled for Noah and Ntilikina.

Another amazing fact , last 3 seasons Phil has earned $36Mil and Steph Curry last 3 seasons he has made $34Mil.
What a life to get to earn $60Mil at a job where just about everyone felt you were abysmal smh

Paul opted-in for the next season and is being traded to Houston, says Woj. Wow
Edit: for Beverly, Williams, Decker and a first rounder next year.

IMO, this seems like Blake is on his way out. At least it opens the door for him to jump ship.

We got far more than that for a much older Steve Nash. The Clipps are still the clips.
