I would make that deal in a heartbeat.

We’re giving up all that and taking on Deng and Gasol’s contracts just to get Kuzma???
 I was coming back to make the same post. I thought about it, and basically said "wait, we're giving up 2 1st rounders AND a 20 ppg scorer...and only getting that?!"

Disregard, fellas. Nothing to see here.

I think we really undervalue TJ. I love Kuzma, but that is way too much to give up.

The two 1sts made me hesitate, it'd have to be one or the other. I don't think we undervalue TJ, I just think given the way the roster is constructed he has less value for us. He's a tremendous scorer but can't spread the floor with his shot, isn't a great ball handler or defender and I don't think he can play the 4 the way we need. With JJ, Booker and Mikal, we're pretty set at the 2/3. Don't need another SF needing 30mpg. Kuz is the kind of stretch 4 we need. We'd move Knight, Chandler and Chriss who are dead weight to me. Deng and Gasol are over the hill and we'd hurt our cap next summer with those two but I feel like Gasol could still have value as a vet for guys like Ayton, Kuz, and Bender. Deng....not sure he has anything left so that'd be a hit. But it'd be addition by subtraction with Knight at least because I think going into the season with him (and Chriss and maybe TJ) is asking for trouble given roles and minutes.

I would love to swap TJ for Kuzma while dumping Chriss and Knight.

But we've got to keep enough assets to get a pg. We just can't give up all our cap space and all our remaining picks for that trade.

The cap space would be fine.

I keep thinking that LeBron is too old for another max contract. But then I remember how old Nash was for us. King James probably has another 4 or 5 very good seasons left.

I think so too. 20ppg scorer and TJ is getting thrown around in every trade proposition.

You've got to trade someone to get someone, but we don't need to dump him just to dump him.

Considering he had one of the best seasons ever, I think "very good" is an understatement. Unless you meant very good for him.

Looks like Dolan is going to sell the Knicks and Rangers. MSG's stock just went through the roof.

I bet Knicks fans are overjoyed. Dolan has been a dreadful owner. Almost literally anyone would be better.

He's not selling any time soon. I don't doubt in a few years he may gauge the value of the teams but they just put out of a statement saying they have no intention of selling. It's more about stockholders than anything else.

Wow, that Ball injury is huge. I rarely feel bad for the Lakers, but I really hate seeing players suffer major injuries, especially to their knees/legs. Hope he is able to rest and recover for the 18-19 season.

They didn't say when it happened, right? Could be a month into rehab already putting even the conservative estimates at late October.
