Wait, were there more departures/changes than Willie leaving?
Well based on minutes, he was our 14th man last year, so you’re wrong actually. Nader is 15th man material.
Torrey Craig was a valuable member of the rotation through the playoffs. His defense rebounding and toughness will be missed.
Nader is awful on defense, low IQ, not .5 offense.
Lol.
12th in minutes in the playoffs.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 3:14 pmWell based on minutes, he was our 14th man last year, so you’re wrong actually. I still wish we had someone at the end of the bench that could hound a 1-3 full court for a handful of possessions each half. I know you only play 7-8 guys in the playoffs, but it is so helpful to have one of those guys in each category (guard, wing, big) that just changes the pace of the game, even if just for 2 minutes when you really need it.The Bobster wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 4:30 pmOf the offseason moves, I like most of them. Losing Craig kind of stings, and re-signing Kaminsky is a "meh" move, but I like Nader, and think that Shamet will be a better fit than Carter, but they still need another dependable big man in addition to McGee.
Re-singing Paul and Payne were the big moves, and I'm still trying to figure out how they got Payne so cheaply. It would be nice to be able to swing a deal, but who do you deal? Crowder? Johnson? Or can you persuade someone to take Saric's contract as part of a deal?

I was actually hoping Young would push for a buyout. He’d be pretty perfect.
I don't love that we're missing those guys now. I think Monty likes a very steady style of play similar to the Spurs, but sometimes you need those balls-to-the-wall energy guys. Carter and Craig gave us that look and we haven't replaced them (yet). Even if it's just 2-3 minutes in a half, those guys can change the complexion of a game and get their team out of a funk with energy plays - deflections that lead to transition baskets, taking charges, a weakside block, etc.Indy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 6:45 pmI still wish we had someone at the end of the bench that could hound a 1-3 full court for a handful of possessions each half. I’m not convinced he’s got anything left. He’d be great if he was healthy and playing at a level close to where he was a few years ago.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 12:17 pmKevin Love would be a perfect replacement for Dario, can pretty much do everything Dario did, but hopefully a little better. If he’s bought out, he could be a great bargain for a 1 year replacement. He’ll also look great doing it and will increase his own value.
