Fantastic game from Bam. He really stepped up when they needed him in this one.

Watching this series reminds me of how terrible our defense was in the Mavericks series.
We just let them take wide open 3s over and over and over. And then we let them drive to the basket unimpeded, too. I don't really know what our defense was trying to stop.

From saying publicly that Chris Paul was injured.

And after the first two games did you want to declare him not max contract worthy?

For the entire playoffs, he is averaging 14.9 ppg and 7.7 rpg. A max player?

Replace the name Bam with DA and it’s all the same arguments

When did I ever say that Bam should get a max contract?

Neither he nor Ayton are max level players. So I don't know what point you're trying to prove here.

I was also just commenting about Bam and didn't reference Ayton at all.

Yeah, but, does Bam stay up till 3am playing video games? That's the big question.

I'm watching Mavs vs Gsw 3rd quarter... I still can't understand why we couldn't finish this Dallas team...

I don’t understand how we couldn’t do what GS is doing defensively against Doncic. I watched them try and get Curry switched onto him and curry like soft traps to let Wiggins get back to Doncic and then retreats back. We just let Doncic pick on CP3 and Payne whenever he wanted.

Warriors go up 3-0 on the Mavs. This is what we should have done, but I guess we couldn't be bothered to play reasonable defense or make a few more shots. This Mavs team is a bunch of pretenders; it is shameful that we gave away a series to them. Ugh.

It’s embarrassing that we lost to this Dallas team…and short of taking Payne and McGee out of the rotation, we really didn’t make a single adjustment. Ayton gave that interview about playing video games and saying he wasn’t worried about the Mavs and it really feels like the whole team felt that way all the way up till game 7.

We won the first two and it looked like we’d sweep. Then Mavs got game 3 and instead of saying let’s make sure we get game 4, we just played our game and lost again. Props to winning game 5, but I think we again felt like we had the series won and got surprised by Dallas taking game 6. Then came game 7 and it seems like we thought, ya the series is tied, but they haven’t been close to beating us at home, so we got this. Just no urgency at any point. Yes I think CP3 was hurt and that made a big difference, but we should’ve been able to beat Dallas without him. No one played well in the series.

Deandre Ayton:
21.1 pts
10.5 reb
2.0 ast
0.5 stl
0.9 blk
64.0 FG%
Why resort to per 36 for two starters? Non-pro-rated table below

Code: Select all

 PTS | RBS | AST | BLK | STL | TOS | | FGA | FG% | 3PA | 3P% | FTA | FT% |
14.9 | 7.7 | 2.8 | 0.9 | 1.2 | 2.1 | | 9.1 | .609| 0.1 | .000| 4.7 | .788|
17.9 | 8.9 | 1.7 | 0.8 | 0.4 | 1.5 | | 12.6| .640| 0.3 | .500| 2.5 | .636|
Those lack of FTAs (and really poor %) are a killer. To take 3.5 more shots per game and only score 3 more points per game is telling.

I think it was David Nash/@TheIVPointPlay that said there was some evidence that Paul was injured in Game 4. I haven't gone back to watch, though.

He went from doing the Shammgod at full speed in Game 2 to barely getting off a 15-foot set shot in Game 7.

The couldn’t miss when they played us. They sucked from three tonight. At home.
