Yeah, I think it's fair to say he'd reached his ceiling but he wasn't washed at that point.

I said 90% washed, which I stand by. He could hardly stay on the court after the his first season with the Knicks. Good for him for sticking around as long as he did, but the Suns would've been down bad if they had given him the same 5-year, $100M deal that he got from the Knicks.

Are you guys really saying the Suns shouldn't have traded him?

We don't need another all-star caliber player here. Book and KD provide enough star power to win a title. I just want players who don't fold under playoff pressure, play hard defence and hit open shots.

Trade Shamet/Payne/Pick Swap to Atlanta for Deandre Hunter

Give 8 mil of MLE to Divencenzo
Give 4 mil to Shake Milton
Give BAE to Seth Curry
Use TPE to sign and trade for Jalen McDaniels for a protected 2nd
Vet min sign JaMychal Green, Jock Landale, Biz, Saban Lee, and Josh Okogie.

Why does indiana do it? I don’t know, I’m hoping they still love Ayton at the number they have him last offseason.

Why does Atlanta do it? They’ve got a lot of long term money locked up for a mediocre team. They may want to reset the salary a little before the big 2nd apron restrictions kick in. Side note, under the new cba salary matching rules, we could actually acquire John Collins for Shamet/Payne/Ish(assuming of course that we are under the first apron).

Why do we do it? Shooting, depth, and defense around Book/KD. Probably too good to be true and not sure we could get all those guys for those salaries.

It's not your fault. The Suns are in a tight spot and I have no significant idea how to rework the roster, so I commend the ideas.

I just don't think that team can get out of the West.

What do you think we need? Forget what’s feasible, what is a roster that you think could?

Just feels like too much mix and matching, band-aid types that will need at least half a season to gel, if at all. I'd like to get back to a core of guys we know will be here long term around Book and are committed to the org and vice versa. Too many mercenary types on 1-2 year deals playing for a title will always be looking for their next contract.

How do you know who’s a core guy vs a mercenary guy? We’re kinda limited in what we can do. Can only offer exceptions, a few of which can only be short deals.

What Shel said and that team needs a lot more shot creation. There's none in the front court or wing besides KD, and even the sum of DDV/Curry/Milton wouldn't get it done in the playoffs.

His points avg increased to the highest it had been since the 2004 season during his first year in New York. His assist and blocking avgs also increased.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have traded him, I'm simply debating the point that he wasn't washed at the point at which we did.

He had a year and a half left in him. He broke down his 2nd year in NY. 2011 could’ve been fun with Amaré though

Yeah, it was coming off a WCF appearance. I would have liked to see them run it back one more time at least. And yes, 'Bazz. We are doing this again...and again...for ETERNITY!!!

I agree, I'm not convinced that team gets out of the west. Is there someone better than Turner available at the 5 that we are overlooking? I just feel he isn't much of an upgrade on Ayton when all's said and done.
