More of a third-string Diallo replacement than a Baynes replacement would be my guess.

Good size and athleticism, not a ton of skill outside the paint, doesn't have great defensive awareness, questions about his motor. Drafted by GS during their title years but couldn't break thru and wasn't kept. Didn't do much in ATL. Guessing he'll mostly be this season's Diallo. Hopefully we won't have to rely on him for more than spot minutes.

Yawn. Waste of a roster spot. A classic big body with no skill.

Has to be a favor for CAA

The clippers only have the minimum left...or was Markieff included in that 64 million contract they gave Marcus?
They can just split their two salaries after the fact.

Honestly, Diallo is better.

He sure can dunk easily. Maybe they brought him in to be Ayton's dunk coach.

I just don't think he offers anything. He doesn't do anything well, he doesn't fit Jimmy Jones's "shooter" criterion, he doesn't have upside...I think there are better ways to fill the end of the roster than this.

Maybe Saucey is on to something with this being a favor to an agent that may payoff down the line...

Agree, doesn’t fit his MO at all. Head scratcher

OK, thanks. Doesn't sound like he'll get much if any playing time. Maybe they just brought him in to go up against Ayton in practice.

Numbers seem fine. He’s athletic, big body. We’re not expecting him to play. Seems fine to me. I don’t really care either way in this one.

Maybe they wanted someone bigger than Diallo. Diallo is only 6-8/219, Jones is 6-11/245.

He may not be a shooter like James Jones, but at least he has the same last name. :P

Giles went to Portland. Dedmon might want to play.
