It’s embarrassing that we lost to this Dallas team…and short of taking Payne and McGee out of the rotation, we really didn’t make a single adjustment. Ayton gave that interview about playing video games and saying he wasn’t worried about the Mavs and it really feels like the whole team felt that way all the way up till game 7.
We won the first two and it looked like we’d sweep. Then Mavs got game 3 and instead of saying let’s make sure we get game 4, we just played our game and lost again. Props to winning game 5, but I think we again felt like we had the series won and got surprised by Dallas taking game 6. Then came game 7 and it seems like we thought, ya the series is tied, but they haven’t been close to beating us at home, so we got this. Just no urgency at any point. Yes I think CP3 was hurt and that made a big difference, but we should’ve been able to beat Dallas without him. No one played well in the series.
Yeah, it’s tough to explain but we peaked during the regular season and lost our edge after that. Last year we were playing our best basketball in the playoffs. We’re going to have to learn how to pace ourselves next season.

I'm watching Mavs vs Gsw 3rd quarter... I still can't understand why we couldn't finish this Dallas team...
The couldn’t miss when they played us. They sucked from three tonight. At home.
We didn't guard them.

Well, there's that. But seriously, they missed a lot of very open threes tonight that they nailed against us.

Fantastic game from Bam. He really stepped up when they needed him in this one.
And after the first two games did you want to declare him not max contract worthy?
For the entire playoffs, he is averaging 14.9 ppg and 7.7 rpg. A max player?
When did I ever say that Bam should get a max contract?
Neither he nor Ayton are max level players. So I don't know what point you're trying to prove here.
I was also just commenting about Bam and didn't reference Ayton at all.
My point was that Bam
is a max player (signed a $163 million contract). That's the going rate for a center of that caliber.

Ah, right. An All-Star who's made three All-Defensive teams. That might be true.

The Warriors have done a good job of closing out all series, so now the Mavs are second guessing their shot attempts which leads to more missed shots.

Wiggins snatched Luka's soul on this one.

All Luka could do was feign getting hit with force.

Pretty clear from a few of those angles that Luka really flopped and tried to sell it. Glad it was reversed after reviews. Got a little forearm rub from Wiggins in his armpit but then grabbed his face immediately and laid on the court.

The Warriors really scored with Wiggins. He finally became the guy that Minnesota envisioned when they drafted him #1 overall. I'm sure part of it was Kerr's tutelage. Monty can have that same kind of influence on a player.

I think it had more to do with the fact that he had time to grow while being the 3-4th option on a team of superstars after also getting a couple years of nearly zero expectations without Curry or Thompson.

He's now growing like he should have, which is in a James Worthy #1 type pick early role, imo.

That seems right to me. He finally found a healthy situation with appropriate expectations and a good role for him. He's in a position to succeed without having the burden of having to carry an entire team.

Ya he’s succeeded because GS doesn’t need him to be more than he is. He tantalized with his talent, but he just wasn’t a go-to franchise wing scorer. He’s a big, versatile, athletic 3&D wing that can do some on ball stuff for you in a pinch. Great 3rd option…honestly he’d be great for us in place of Crowder.
Still not an all star starter though.

He went from doing the Shammgod at full speed in Game 2 to barely getting off a 15-foot set shot in Game 7.
Sounds like “choke”
Does it really matter? I mean really, it makes no difference to me if he was hurt or choked or whatever. At the end of the day he didn’t deliver when he needed him the most. He completely caspered from a personal performance standpoint and even worse from a leadership standpoint. He let his team panic. That part had nothing to do with physical injury. He failed. Excuse or no excuse.
