Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Eh, more of a Bledsoe replacement or bench guard IMO.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
He's restricted, they wouldn't be paying him backup money, IMO.

I think it has to do with Bledsoe more than GoranGladiator wrote:I'd be nervous if I was Goran
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I'd rather have Bledsoe.

You can't run a Goran-Thomas two PG lineup. It would get killed defensively
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
This makes me nervous.

Sounds like a trade is in the works to me. Only thing that makes sense.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

PJ re-signs for 3 years 16.5, which is the full MLE.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I think they keep Bledsoe, sign Thomas and trade Goran for an upgrade elsewhere (PF). I'm not advocating that ... just how I'm reading itWally_West wrote:I think it has to do with Bledsoe more than GoranGladiator wrote:I'd be nervous if I was Goran
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Apparently Gambo believes it could be part of a sign and trade of Bledsoe to get Love.
I'd do it.

Doesn't Bledsoe have to agree to sign with MN?

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
If we could flip Bledsoe for Love, Thomas could be the 3rd guard with Green, Dragic, Love, Tucker and Len starting. The Morrii, our rookies, Plum and Thomas on the bench? That sounds solid as fuck to me.

Good Lord, I can only hope that Love agrees to an extension beforehand - I see nothing to dig about a 5' 9" gunner.....

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Didn't realize he was that little.... damn.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I wouldn't call him just a gunner, he's a combo guard, decent PG skills. Poor defender, but gets steals, better shooter than EB, ok rebounder as well. I like him, just not as much as Bledsoe.SwingMan wrote:Good Lord, I can only hope that Love agrees to an extension beforehand - I see nothing to dig about a 5' 9" gunner.....
Love, Hurts.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Aldridge is saying we're going to continue meeting with Thomas tomorrow, but it has no impact on Bledsoe's situation, which I find hard to believe.
We would have Bledsoe, Dragic, Thomas, Goodwin and Ennis vying for minutes. You could argue Ennis and Goodwin are unknowns, so we're hedging our bets and going with Thomas as a sure thing off the bench or maybe acquiring an asset at a decent price to include in a trade later on (or keep him and flip Bledsoe). If it's the latter, fine. I just don't want to see Ennis or Goodwin's growth and development stunted.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Thomas said that it's between Dallas, LA, and us. If that's the case it's between us and LA since Dallas money is tied up with Parsons. I"m just not understanding why we're interested in a small guard when we already have Dragic, Bledsoe, Ennis, and Ish. I hope something else is in the works.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I think we have the team option on Ish. I thought Ennis would be Ish's replacement but he's a different type of PG. Thomas is basically a better version of Ish. So we may be looking to upgrade there.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Talk about underselling Thomas. Ish Smith just tries really hard, thats like calling LeBron a better version of Bo Outlaw.ShelC wrote:I think we have the team option on Ish. Yeah the Kings were shit, but that wasn't his fault.
Love, Hurts.
