I'd rather have Hollis-Jefferson then Johnson.
Turner over Harrell. Bobby Portis is interesting...

“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”
Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Gotta admit, I'd like either Stanley Johnson or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at 13. Such sentiment probably isn't the way to build a team, but I'd like it, and it's not like we'd be reaching.

I like Jefferson, but I wouldn't be thrilled with Johnson. I just think he's overrated and there's a bunch of better options at guard out there.Cap wrote:Gotta admit, I'd like either Stanley Johnson or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at 13. Porzingis measurements. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable that a guy that big could have that level of athleticism and shooting touch.
Hint: Closer to 7-3 than 7-2 in shoes. And the wingspan. Good grief.

To me, now, the #4 pick is superstar level. I would do the Bledsoe plus #13 for it. Porzingins measurements are a game changer. That combination of size and skills is just too rare.

If we are able to get the 4th pick, that is who I would choose.JCSunsfan wrote:Porzingis measurements. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable that a guy that big could have that level of athleticism and shooting touch.

So no Mock Draft thread or poll on who everybody wants the most with the 13th pick? Or is it far too late now?

Ugh.
No big white stiffs from Europe. Will people ever learn?
Tskitishvili, Cabarkapa, Milicic, Tsakalidis, Latvia's own BIEDRINS, I could go on.
For every Nowitzki there are 10 stiff players that run around like legs without knees.
I don't care about his touted shooting or length. He plays in LATVIA.

And I'm not against drafting white players, I want Kaminsky in this draft.
Just no stiffs in Europe that are touted because of their height.

From Latvia, but plays in Spain in the ACB league which is the second best basketball league in the world. Tougher competition there than the Mountain West Conference.specialsauce wrote:Ugh.

Do we want to do the mock draft game this year? I didn't do last year because so few participated the year before. I could throw a post up later.Wally_West wrote:So no Mock Draft thread or poll on who everybody wants the most with the 13th pick? Or is it far too late now?

Also, here is a kind of interesting video from Grantland on Kristaps Porzingis's Pro Day experience.

Booker
Turner
Hezonja

Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Hmm, probably Stanley Johnson, but I wouldn't like the pick that much. Maybe Looney or Lyles
Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Nurkic, Len, PGasol, MGasol, Gortat, Vucevic, Gobert, Mozgov, Divac, Pekovic. European big men have no greater fail rate than homegrown ones.specialsauce wrote:Ugh.

And btw, you watch this kid play and he is anything but a stiff. He runs the court well, moves well, has an excellent vertical. His only flaw is his strength. But he has a frame that will fill out some. He is also a pf not a c.

Yeesh, don't like how that draft plays out with Booker, Kaminsky, Turner all leaving the board before our pick.Sunsfan4life wrote:Ok you're at #13.....Here's who is gone

I do not want Stanley Johnson. In this scenario I'd be pretty tempted by Dekker even though I have concerns with his ability to create off the dribble. He's a legit 6-8 with athletic ability and versatility. Maybe Lyles as well, but I think I like Dekker more than Lyles.
Re: 2015 NBA Draft
He's no stiff. He's a cross of Nowitzki and AK47, but like everyone he does have bust potential. I think it's a lot less though with him.
