Yeah, I don't see Russell moving the needle much.
A rare moment when Suns FO and INF are in agreement.

If the Suns were pursuing him, there would be a report of them meeting with him at the beginning of free agency. Gambo was right all along. Sadly. Sickeningly. This is worse than the Knicks...at least they try to get free agents.
There's a part of me that thinks a lot of this is smokescreening so it doesn't look like tampering on our part.

I am prepared to be disappointed tho.
This. All of it.

But but culture! Winning attracts attracts winning. Stars attract stars. I’m onboard for Russell or Brogdon. Not saying Russell is a perfect fit but he does improve us. Just spending on depth for players with minimal upside doesn’t really help us much in this western conference.

As free-agent guard Isaiah Thomas probes the marketplace, this summer affords him something that the past two did not: an unobstructed work regimen to restore strength and explosion to his lower body, and the chance to be back in the gymnasium every day, sharpening his game.
"Isaiah was fantastic this season," Denver's president of basketball operations, Tim Connelly, told ESPN. "His voice in the locker room was invaluable. I'm sure it was frustrating for him not playing as much as he hoped, but he never allowed that frustration to negatively impact his approach. We wouldn't have had the success we had this year without him."

Prepare to be disappointed when we end up with TJ McConnell (if we're lucky).

Even the Lakers have been in touch with Seth Curry. Odd that we're not in any rumors with any players.

Welp, we should hear something within 24 hours. Can we at the very least just get Oubre back? Is that too much to ask?

Remember there were whispers last year that the Suns may not use their cap space. Then at 12:01 we got the delightful news all of it had spent on Trevor Ariza.

Thanks for that, INF. What would be the equivalent this year? Terry Rozier?

Corey Joseph :(

At least Rozier would address a need. I don't know what move could equal the stupidity of signing Ariza. But then again, I sat there on draft night as the Suns were on the clock and said to myself, "I can't think of a selection that would be terrible here..."

Never underestimate the Suns' imagination.

Again, at least that would address a need, although I am by no means advocating signing him.

Btw, he is represented by Rich Paul. I don't think the Suns are going to pursue him.

Not saying that he doesn’t address a need just that he would be extremely underwhelming way to spend our cap space. I could totally see the Suns overpaying for him too for no reason. I don’t think being a Rich Paul client will matter to much, at the end of the day it will probably be only 1 or 2yr contract.

The Pacific division will turn into a nightmare if Kawhi and Butler join the clippers.

I prefer Butler and Kawhi teaming up with LAC than Kawhi joining the Lakers. The NBA will be better off if the Kawhi+LeBron+Davis doesn't happen.

Absolutely agree. That would be the most dominant set of 3 players to play on the court together ever. Why couldn't I have been born in LA?
