If we end up with Julius Randle I'm gonna blow up Ishbia's house.
That's exactly who I think we're getting... Just feels like our trajectory. :(

Randle could just be a placeholder for Giannis. Chess not checkers.

He could also be a boat.

I read somewhere that Minnesota can't include Randle or Reid because of player contract options for next season.

However it shakes out, they probably need to acquire a Center from the deal. Neither Richards and Oso are full time starter quality.
Agreed. I wonder what sort of C a guy like Vassell could bring back? He's around 25m per, gotta be something decent around that price
Jusuf Nurkic makes $19M. :P
I am sure TOO was a huge fan of Nurk and Richards.

Its almost funny how we were used to mediocre to bad centers, finally draft one good and half the fanbase wanted him gone just to endure more bad Cs.
Remind me, which one was the good one?

They would need to opt in first…or opt out and extend(as long as the new salary didn’t jump by a certain amount. I can’t remember the exact number though).

I would assume Reid is certain to opt out because he'd definitely make more than $15 million next year on a new deal. Not sure about Randle since his numbers dipped last year - he may see this as his chance to get a big deal with the new TV contract and all.

The player I want them to get is Kel'el Ware.

His 24-25 stats per 36 min. - 15.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 blocks, 55% FG%, 69% FT%

Competition is all we can hope for. Come on Ishbia led Suns. Pull off a decent deal for once. Your track record is abysmal at best. Ruined a dang good team. Let's get back to Suns basketball!

Don't turn this thread into another DA thread!! :-)
Won't turn it into a DA thread but I will give @JeremyG his flowers that we would have been better off not making that Ayton trade. We would have had a decent center, no matter how annoying and overpaid he was and better yet, we'd still have Camara. However, last season would have been just as annoying...probably.

I think the Suns should almost hold out till the Finals are over to see if OKC loses. They might be a team that enters the sweepstakes.

I don't know. He's not really in their timeline. I don't know if they'd even be interested. They know they're close even if they don't get past Indiana. I think KD would ruin their payroll.

They might be ok with him on a 1 year rental before Chet/Jalen get paid…but they would probably have to move one of those other guys if they wanted to extend KD. I agree they are probably unlikely as a suitor.

It’s hard to know what the relationship was between Booker and Ayton. That’s the one thing that would’ve needed to be fixed for it to even be an option.

How would you guys rank the following young players:

Jabari Smith
Tari Eason
Cam Whitmore
Reed Sheppard
Jeremy Sochan
Rob Dillingham
Terrence Shannon

I left Castle out because I don’t think he’s available, but if you think he’s not the best prospect, feel free to share that as well.
Eason
Sheppard (I still really like him and think he'll have a very good career)
....
Jabari
Sochan (both guys need to get paid and I'm not sure they'll return value on their next deals)
Dillingham
....
....
Shannon
....
....
....
Whitmore

I could easily talk myself into Randle but also would likely be skeptical of a longterm plan.

Bad defender, takes bad shots, hurt a lot, sounds like he'll fit right in.
