I don't know what other teams can offer the combination of cap space and talent and future assets/potential that the Suns can. But I still think Lebron won't take us seriously. Too bad. I don't like the Heat superteam, but I would take the NBA's best player here any day.

Nobody can offer what we can, and apparently thats what McD and Co is banking on. LeBron is no fool, he'd see that we have a ton of pieces that he'd tie together. Bigs that stay outta the way, guards that can get their own, youth he can mentor, it's a helluva situation we've got here. I dont think it happens because LeBron is worried about legacy, but it's fun to think about.

One disadvantage though is that the Suns play in the West. Another one is probably the stink remaining from Sarver's past imbecility regarding assets and contracts, plus being one of the most vocal owners advocating for hard measures against the players during the CBA negotiations.

I don't think Sarver really factors in here, he might but I don't see him as enough of a negative to stop a potential LeBron signing. I do agree that being in the West is a big issue. Though if the Suns pull out a LeBron/Melo double with Dragic and potentially Bledsoe still here, that team would challenge for 70 wins.

Lebron isn't going to leave the Heat. If he cares about his legacy at all, he won't jump ship and sign with a third team. Otherwise he'll turn into the next Shaq where no one teams fans particularly love him and call him their own (closest is Lakers but still, this era now belongs to Kobe). He's going to rather stay with the Heat or go back to Cleveland. Would be nice if he came here though.

Whatever happens, I'm just proud of the front office for even making the attempt. You can't win if you don't play. Ask the Houston Rockets.

Coro article on the LeBron/Melo pairing:

http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/n ... /11706943/
It is hard to make the big shot without taking it so the Suns are launching an all-out free agency pursuit of LeBron James, pledging to be the only team that could pair him with Carmelo Anthony or another maximum-level free agent of his choosing.

As azcentral sports reported in April, the Suns have planned to pursue James in July free agency with the lure of his close friend and Suns guard Eric Bledsoe, salary cap space and a successful young team. Yahoo! Sports further revealed the plan with a report that the Suns have dreams, pipe ones to some, of pairing James and Anthony without disrupting the core of a Suns team that went 48-34 last season.

Suns leadership – managing partner Robert Sarver, president of basketball operations Lon Babby and general manager Ryan McDonough – are trying to get a meeting with James to make their pitch of a James-Anthony or James-Bosh pairing in Phoenix, league sources confirmed. Free agency begins at 9 p.m. Phoenix time on Monday night and teams then have nine days to negotiate with free agents and their representatives before contracts can be signed.

For those who say they don't want Lebron on the team... Really? That's like saying you wouldn't want Jordan during his prime. Craziness and stupidity. I want a championship badly during my lifetime.

I Want Anthony no where near this team. But if it means hauling Lebron in, so be it.

@DJJazzyJody: The Phoenix Suns are expected to make Gordon Hayward a significant offer, possibly a max deal, but Utah Jazz will match, per sources.

Not sure who this guy is but he has a lot of followers

Exactly!!

I mock those that feel that they have to do it the "right" way, like they have some dogmatic approach to how they root for the Suns and there is only one right and true way. I'm a fan of the Suns, and I want them to win a championship. I would prefer that they win by an average margin of victory each night of 20+ points per game, win 80 regular season games and sweep the playoffs. Is that not the right way, or does it offend someone else's vision of how to win the championship the "right" way?

I like Hayward, but I don't think he's work 12+.

And which report do you believe? Can't go after LeBron & Anthony & also sign Hayward & Bledsoe.

Wow. Putting an awful lot of words into peoples mouths. On top of the "stupidity", "craziness", and "mock"ing.

Cant go into the off-season with Mavericks-esque tunnel vision. I expect we'll be rumored for Monroe as well. We're an easy link with so much cap space.
