If both tweet reports are accurate, then it's the Bulls who are interested in Bender. But I've seen no reports of any contact between Bender and the Bulls, let alone workouts. The only rumors I've seen about what the Bulls want to do with #3 suggest that they're interested in Dunn.

I think you take the guy you think is most likely to be a really good player, position be damned. All it takes is one injury anyway and suddenly a rookie might find himself playing 30 minutes a game. I mean, let's not forget this is a team that was forced to start Goodwin at PG and played guys straight from the d-league when Bled, Knight, and Price were all hurt. Plus you can always make trades down the road. I don't like the idea of just drafting to fill a hole.
Buddy seems to have that killer instinct as well. He won't back down from a challenge and he'll step up and make big plays when it counts. I see some bigtime clutch moments in his future.
Unless it's the NCAA tournament. ;)

That's fair. But in his defense, outside the nova game he played very well. Granted, the nova game was the biggest one. His tournament averages including the nova game were 25/4/2 while shooting 53% from 3

The only thing that gives me pause in regards to draft Hield is that I don't know how often you would be able to field an effective lineup with both he and Booker on the court together.

True, hield is pretty locked into the 2 position. Booker would have to slide to the 3 for half his minutes. You'd also run into problems defensively. Although I could see them becoming at least average defenders.

Just to muddy the waters a little, here's McD with Bender:

Chad Ford said on AZ radio today that the Suns should take Chriss over Bender if both are available at 4. He said Chriss is more of a project but has better upside. Compared him to Amare and Marion.

Saw the best reply to the McD/Bender dinner over on reddit.

Well there you have it.

Chad was pretty convincing about Chriss. I'm thinking we're taking one of the two for sure between Bender and Chriss at 4.

i saw a highlight reel of chriss, and he moves like a small forward. even if he had missed those shots, the way he shot them (good form) and the way he moved (like a skilled player who knows what he is doing), he should be a no brainer pick, unless he has off the court issues that i am missing here.

almost 70% FT shooter, i guess that's good enuf.

I'm with the others regarding staying out of the discussion due to not being as knowledgeable about college or overseas ball (ironic I know) as others.
I read a lot of pre drafts, but get much more insight from this board.
For me there will be at least 1 trade. ( I think it will be the 13th)
Keep the 4th and pick a 4.
If they think that Bled, Booker & TJ will take a few years to reach potential then they go long term.
If they think a good solid addition plus trade will bring a turn around quicker then they go for immediate impact.
So, Bender or Chriss at the 4.
No 13th
Probably another 4 later in the round.

I don't hate him, I just don't think he's a good prospect.

There doesn't seem to be much love for Chriss on this board at all. I'm on board, I think he could be really good as a stretch 4. He's a special athlete and his shot is pretty good. He's got very nice form. Somewhere between amare and Marion isn't that far off. He's got a skill set similar to amare, but not as big or powerful.

He's a combination of Marvin Williams and Tristan Thompson. Pass.

He's not big or powerful like amare, doesn't rebound or defend like Marion, yet draws nonsensical comparisons to both. I will be sad as fuck if we draft him at 4.

Yeah, the Amare and Marion comparisons are very strange.

He's a much better athlete than either of them
