It was probably Cliff.

Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I’ve been wondering if we’re allowed to sign Cliff Paul mid playoffs.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I will say again, I do not believe “Out” means he can’t be cleared tomorrow.

Ok...please clarify...is Worm a Clippers homer or just a pessimist?
Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I can answer that. He’s a well known pessimist. I’ve won many a bet with him through the years due to his extreme pessimism.Vladimir_Taltos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 5:39 pmOk...please clarify...is Worm a Clippers homer or just a pessimist?

Defensive pessimism has proven to be a useful cognitive strategy for some people; they set their expectations low and then outperform them by preparing thoroughly for a wide range of negative outcomes in advance.
I consider myself a realist. We could lose. We could also win. I’ll watch either way and feel great if they win and not as great if they lose.

Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I heard talk that this season should have an * next to it due to the injuries. I got to thinking about how many times the Suns have been in the playoffs and how many of those playoff runs were ruined by injuries. I then listed all the times the nba decided to put an * next to those seasons because of it and came up with zero times. I then decided that most of that * talk probably came from disgruntled L.A. fans.

Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I’m almost positive Phil Jackson coined the asterisk term during the Spurs championship in that lockout shortened season, so yes, when in doubt, blame the Lakers. I mean that in an absolutely supportive and non-sarcastic way.Nodack wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 5:58 pmI heard talk that this season should have an * next to it due to the injuries. That Spurs 99 title is the only one I hear people occasionally still put an asterisk on. In the moment people talk about asterisks and then in 1-2 years everyone forgets the circumstances. You win a title, you deserve it. There’s no cheap titles.

Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I think its a lot more enjoyable for me because the Suns won game 1. I'd be loving it much less if the Suns lost.

He'd probably say he's a realist and we're optimists. I'd argue he's a huge pessimist that I don't believe has ever harboured any stretch beyond a glimmering hour of positive future outlook regarding the Suns. Yeah, it's been a difficult go as a Suns fan my whole life. But sometimes you have to hope big otherwise what's the point?Vladimir_Taltos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 5:39 pmOk...please clarify...is Worm a Clippers homer or just a pessimist?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Re: Suns News: Playoffs Edition
I’m a realist with a slightly pessimistic lean. I think the suns have as good a chance as any team this year, and we are in a solid position to defeat the clippers.

I just learned the NBA Draft Lottery is this week and I had a huge smile when I realized it because I've been so used to looking forward to it for several weeks in advance.
It's such a relief to not be emotionally invested in ping pong balls and the yet to be determined potential of a teenager affecting future Suns success.

Yup. Tomorrow before our game. Guess what, we’re not in the lottery! We don’t pick until 29th. We are up 1-0 on the Clippers going for 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals!!!Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 12:03 amI just learned the NBA Draft Lottery is this week and I had a huge smile when I realized it because I've been so used to looking forward to it for several weeks in advance.

Who here would have guessed before the season that on June 22, Deandre Ayton would have the 9th highest odds of Finals MVP?
