I've never seen a game but through the videos I've seen, there is a reason you haven't seen him on any draft boards.

For sure. I'm interested in Tacko Fall, though, though he won't come out this year.

I want Brice Johnson at 13. I assume Sabonis will not be available. Not interested in Chriss; only somewhat interested in Ellenson.
The thing that really sucks about this draft is that BPA at both of the slots we pick might be a SG - Murray/Hield at the top, Beasley/Korkmaz in the back. I'm open to make a trade, but for what? For whom?
I think there's about a 65% chance we end up with Bender. I'd be satisfied with Bender/Johnson. Would Mirza re-sign if we picked up two power forwards? Bender probably won't play for at least a year, and Johnson's a 4/5, whereas Mirza is more of a 4/3 (just like Bender). So maybe.
In light of all this, while INF would like to trade out of the top 2 if we land there, I'd be more open to trading into it, provided we keep the #13. If we trade the top pick for a player, I don't know who would make a lot of sense for us who would also be available. If Griffin were in play, I'd love it, but he won't be. Neither will Love, most likely. Okafor? Maybe, but the dude can't guard the P&R, which scares me, and I like our young offensive talents - Warren, Booker. All of which makes me more open to a guy like Dunn, who has the size to share in a rotation with Bled and Booker. Of course, we'd have no choice but to trade Knight in that case. So...
Bledsoe/Dunn
Booker/Bogdanovic/Archie
Warren/Tucker
Saric/Teletovic/Johnson
Len/Chandler
???
This draft perplexes me. I just don't know what to do with our top pick.

While McDo's last few years have been hit-and-miss, I actually think he'll be smart about our draft picks and figure out some good players to pick. I'm looking forward to the lottery and the draft.

Yep no idea why ndiaye is trying to get drafted now. Could stay in college with so much to work on.
Why the interest in Tacko Fall?

Below is a list of Shooting Guards
Many rate Buddy Hield but what to do with him and Booker?
Furkan Korkmaz out of Turkey is intriguing
Timothe Luwawu is someone who is all over the place on different draft boards. On the Brightside podcast that had him at top 10
In the end you know we will take Murray anyway
Is there any of those in the 2nd rounder who could be useful shooters off the bench or anyone athletic with high upside?

Yeah, we don't need any more guards unless we're replacing some.

I think if you get the 4th pick and you have Hield rated as your top remaining guy you take him and figure it out. Same thing with Dunn. Same thing with anybody. You draft BPA not based on need.

Agreed.
I've asked a couple of times and nobody answered, do you think Hield can do a good job guarding PGs? If that were the case, you could make him the nominal PG alongside Booker, who would be the primary playmaker. You'd get rid of Knight of course.

Wasted seasons, but now they have two nice assets in Noel and Okafor. Their next phase should include pawning off one of them to balance out the roster. Probably Okafor.

I know you draft the best player available and don't draft for position. But we absolutely are set at SG for a decade or more with Booker and that's just the long and short of it. The very last thing we need is an SG. I really don't think it does anybody any favors to draft some SG who can't run an offense and then try to play yet another guard out of position. If we really think that guy is the best player available, we don't need that player and should draft and trade him to somebody who does, for some asset that will actually help us.

Yup. We either need to trade down or just bite the bullet and take the PF we like a few spots higher than where he should go. Is Ellenson at #5 too high? Yes, but if he's your guy then just do it. Ditto for Rabb.

Agree with Mori here. Yes we don't want to draft an inferior player just out of fit, necessarily, but then we also have the option of moving that pick for a later pick where said inferior player might be the BPA anyway, and net another asset in the process.
Not huge on Hield. He's so very turnover prone.

The positions I'd say I'd hesitate to do this would be bringing in 2 guys who have to play in the post or 2 point guards like the Wolves did with Flynn and Rubio in the same year. Still like Ring said Philadelphia is young enough and were in a position where they could wait and make the decision on which guy they wanted to keep and swap 1 for assets.
Jahli Okafor wasn't the 3rd best player available in that draft anyways. He had some major flaws that reared their ugly head in his rookie year.

Deyonta Davis out of Michigan st. He's a raw guy who I really would give a look at #13. He hasn't been discussed much on this board. Any thoughts?

It depends on what type of point guard you are talking about. I don't think you can ask him to do it on a consistent bases though and expect him to be effective.
