Chandler still works as a mentor so long as we're competitive and he's engaged. If we're competing and trying to win games, he'll be fine IMO.

And this whole notion of Knight as a 6th man, being OK with it, adjusting to it, is not only conjecture but also foolishness. Just because we want him to play off the bench and embrace it, doesn't mean it's a realistic option.

I don't pretend to have any great insights into his psychology, but if what you're basing your opinion on is a one-line response to an end of year interview, what's "foolish" is thinking you have a rational basis for coming to such a conclusion. Neither of us know. Thinking you know is the only way to be foolish here.

Yea I am. Because those were his words when asked a specific question.
Reporter: Because of his (Booker's) emergence, how do you see your role...
Knight: My role's gonna be the same. I don't see my role changing. We'll see what happens next year as far as roles but I see my role being exactly the same.
Reporter: Starting, or coming off the bench, can you embrace that 6th man....
Knight: I see..I see my role being the same.

I guess I'm the foolish one.

It seems out of whack priority-wise to want to ship out PJ over Knight. Knight is hardly ever a net positive for us, and has several years left on his deal. PJ works as hard as anyone on the court, and only has this year left. I think he is worth more to a contender than Knight is, so I think we can find a taker come January. Knight is the guy that doesn't fit. Has the size of a PG, but doesn't play PG, and can't guard PGs or SGs. PJ at least can adequately defend 2 positions.

I'm glad enough to have LB back, I guess. Did not expect this signing at all.

What does this mean for Price? Is he an assistant coach now?

Very hopeful that this means we plan to move a guard or two. Pleasepleaseplease find a home for Knight and Goodwin. Please get us back some good picks.

Fairly certain we will not pick up Jenkins this year (even though his contract is a steal). I really hope he makes it somewhere. I think he can really contribute off the bench, if he can just find a team that needs him. Maybe Miami wants him? I guess we can bring back price if we don't keep Jenkins.

Why couldn't we find a taker now?

I don't see any lineup with both PJ and Dudley in it making much sense, which is why I think he needs to go. Plus, I don't know how he'll respond to taking a back seat to both Dudley and Warren - which is inevitable. If I see one more projection that has PJ starting over TJ I'm gonna.... do what I've been doing, which is shake my head in silence.

Tucker and Duds actually could work well IMO. They both can rotate and switch off at the 3/4, can post a bit, stretch the floor with their 3pt shot. Not great, but it could work.

Is Knight cheaper than Tyler Johnson now?

It is a much better option than any lineup where Knight and Bleds play together.

Yeah, I really don't get the PJ hate. He's been a soldier for us.

I hate that many times he doesn't play within himself, and isn't nearly as good defensively as he was 2 years ago (now he is just mediocre). But if that is the biggest problem with him, I will take it. Which is why I want to trade him, because I think he has pretty good value for the right team.

I don't have any PJ hate, I just don't think Duds and PJ can work together. Both will stretch the floor, but then we're relying exclusively on our guards to create offense - no creation whatsoever from either forward. Having one 3 and D forward on the court is fine - even desirable. But two? That offense would be cramped and stagnant.

Too much faith in Devin Booker to do everything for this team, and not enough faith in Warren. TJ STARTS.

PJ sucks. The only thing he's above average at is rebounding. Everything else is rather average or below (including bball IQ) plus he steals PT from TJ and bender

Plus, they would be the first 3-4 combo where neither guy could dunk since Solomon Rosenbaum and Bartholomew Haamersmark manned the positions for the 1947 Pittsburgh Ironmen.

LOL. But what a great team that was. I remember it like it was yesterday. High character guys too.
