Goodwin on what he brings to an NBA team: “Offensively, I attack. I get to the free throw line, get into the lane and make plays. Defensively is where I’m going to have to step it up a lot. This year, I really want to be a two-way player. I feel like offensively, we’ve got (Anthony Davis) and plenty of scoring. But defensively is something I can really contribute to.”

He's certainly got the right attitude to try and make this work.

Well, in his first day as a Pelican, Archie got to watch Stephen Curry hit an all-time NBA record 13 three-pointers. (Goodwin didn't play in the game.) Enjoy New Orleans, Archie!

I didn't realize it before, but NOP waived Lance Stephenson to make room for Archie.

He didn't look bad in his Pelicans debut against LAL.

He is made for Europe or China. He can wow those folks with his athleticism and speed and have a long lucrative career. He can later pull a Sonny Weems and confirm that he never would have made it in the NBA anyway.

It's really too bad that he could never develop a reliable jump shot in all that time he had to just practice.

Hard to practice when there are so many good PS games available.

So is Brandon Knight.

I don't think Knight should be in Europe/China. Knight's destiny is to bounce around the league, playing for non-playoff team after non-playoff team, hoisting jumpers and scoring 15-17 ppg and fooling the next owner into giving him a chance.

He could be the Rudy Gay of guards, but also the Jason Terry of a winning team if there ever was a way to coach the brainless out of him.

I think Jason Terry would be the best case scenario. Sometime starter, mostly a bench guy who can help close out games. Jason Terry was a smart player tho and eventually accepted and understood his role. Knight will probably need a different team, coach, situation to take on that role.
