That tandem offensive put back after like 7 attempts by Chandler and Warren was awesome!

Back within 2 with 2 minutes to go. Win or lose, this has been a great game!

He already has the tools, he's already a great player in this league already and he's going to continue to showcase that. Now it's just getting the right pieces around him in order to be at a high level to showcase that. Because not only can he score, he can rebound, he can pass. You're seeing it. When he goes against the high-level teams, you can see that he raises his game to another level. And that's a tell-tale signs of a great player in that making have that consistency for years to come.

"Obviously, you guys can see that I'm a big fan. I've been watching him for awhile. You just want him to stay as healthy as he can, because a situation like that, as a competitor, you want to play 48 minutes a game. You go on a two-game losing streak, three-game losing streak, 38 points is not enough and it eats at you. It just comes with maturity in this league and he'll continue to get better."

He shoots so many wild shots offensively that I'm totally fine that he doesnt play a lot. He just takes bad shots, sure sometimes they go in, but most of the time they dont.
He needs to play.
Agreed.

I missed this game, but every game our core guys don’t get +20 minutes is a complete waste.
Haha, I am glad you missed this one. Bender had a few plays this game that had even me shaking my head in frustration.

That's a good question. That call in the paint on Monroe where Baynes was holding his jersey and stiff arming him was one of the worst calls I've ever seen in the NBA and that's saying something. It was so backward it was ridiculous.

James may be terrible but where does that put Ulis

PER for both of them

# 170 Mike James 14.1 PER. Just below the average of 15.0
# 266 Tyler Ulis - 10.1 PER Way below the average G league material

By the Way our Rookie of the year candidate

#302 Josh Jackson - 8.03 PER. Sharpening up his skills for Europe or China in a couple of years?

While Mike James is terrible, it is really hard to say Ulis is any better.

We have so many holes to fill it is incredible.

I really like Triano but he does not have much talent on this roster.

Sauce was and is correct. I apologize for being optimistic at one point this season.

Bender - 20
Chriss - 20
Jackson - 20
Booker - 21
Ulis - 21

I don’t hate them. I just don’t think they’re a significant piece of our future.

By significant, I mean starter. Bench players are not what you spend years developing.

While I am not trying to strongly defend the play of James or Ulis or whomever, I want to say that PER is mostly a garbage stat and is not used much by anybody any more.

Because I’m critical of them? Because I feel like Chriss and Jackson have fatal flaws in their game that have plagued many players, and that Benders lack of aggression will forever hold him back from being anything more than a solid role player? I actually like Bender. I just don’t believe in any of them.

I wouldn't call it garbage. It gives a pretty good indication of how efficient a player is offensively. It definitely has its flaws but I find it useful. I like to break the statistic down to it's individual components. For instance, Devin Booker has a PER of 18.6 this season. Victor oladipo has the highest PER among SG's with a 22.6. If you look at the individual components, you figure out where Booker has room for improvement. They both have essentially the same assist, turnover, and usage rate. Oladipo has a higher true shooting % and a higher rebound rate.

I know most didn't get to see the game yday , it's actually a decent watch if you have some down time.
Obviously after scoring 70pts Devin would have gained some respect n fans in Boston but still surprised at how complimentary they were yday. Heinsohn can be so biased in his commentary lol but they were singing Devin's praises from minute one and showed quite a few of his buckets on replay which isn't normal for the road team lol. the other guy mentioned that he saw him and some of the others in a restaurant after the game last yr and was impressed by how humble he was despite his big night.

Thanks for that. I taped both broadcasts but watched the Suns. I saved the Boston broadcast "just in case." I will now watch it!
