This is the Chriss we need to see regularly. He and Warren were huge. Bender's stroke was nice again as well, and Jackson had a couple moments. Booker brought us home. I'm happy!

I think you can see Triano developing into those categories you look for in a long term coach. I've enjoyed seeing him truly teach our young team as well as motivate them.

I agree. We don't need another Scott Skiles.

Cold blooded. I knew even when we were down four late that we were going to win this game. The Suns and especially Booker are becoming good at closing out games. Plus, we're just a better team than the Kings.
Draft position be damned I'm enjoying watching the young guys win. I'd like to explore keeping Triano as the HC.
Agreed. However our schedule has been pretty soft lately. I expect some rough times ahead. We haven't even played the Warriors yet and we've only played the Rockets once so far.
i agree that our schedule has been soft
i disagree about keeping Triano because he's also been soft
he seems like a nice guy
retain him as assistant
i don't want any more nice guy coaches
i want a hard ass, but that the team still respects

Triano has definitely made improvements
improvement is what we need this year
but when it comes time to make our move
we need a coach with balls who gets excited on the sidelines
and kicks ass when it's called for
I'll just leave you with this from Bordow's AZCentral article on the game:
Then, too, Phoenix’s defense hunkered down, holding Sacramento to 18 points in the fourth quarter after allowing 37 in the third. In one embarrassing sequence, Booker made a 3-pointer and the Suns stood around admiring the view, allowing Sacramento’s Bogdan Bogdanovic to stroll to the 3-point line and bury a wide-open shot.

An angry Triano called timeout and lit into his team.

“We needed it,” Chandler said. “Because you got to wake up. I think we were doing a little bit too much celebrating.”

For what is worth, Hoopshype (and other sources) has him on a 3/27 contract (decreasing; will make 8.5M in 19-20).

What about paying that for a 6th man in the mold of a Manu Ginobili? Bogdanovic does much more than just shooting. He is a playmaker who also plays defense and has a high IQ.

And the real reason the Suns won was that Sacramento could't score down the stretch.
Can’t win of you can’t score. The Suns did. Booker took over at the end after a bad shooting night. He even got a steal. That’s what future Superstars do. Warren was on fire tonight and has been money all year. No more mysterious head wounds please.

Did the Suns really just win 5/7 games?

Ya, I could see that. Do you think Bogdan and Booker could spend much time on the court together? That would be rough defensively. Bogdan got roasted by Warren a lot last night.

Both teams suck. The salary cap is going up again, what difference does it make? Neither team is getting a cornerstone FA.
I don't think paying 12 million a year for a backup sg is good strategy for a bad team.

Accumulating talent is a good strategy for a bad team though. That contract isn't terrible and it will get better as the cap continues to increase.
And he plays both guard positions.

But I'm not going to bitch about the Chriss trade after his good game last night.

So many posessions where he was the only Suns player to touch the ball.

But he's the only coach in the NBA who knows about that unstoppable inbounds lob/shot play.

Bogdan is more of a 1-2, but he plays a lot of 3 for the Kings when he shares the court with Fox and Heild. 6'9" and 230 lbs is a tough matchup for him.

Kings are a mess. Glad we beat them.

I just came here to post that. Good stuff. Let's hope he keeps it up so we're glad to have him over Bogdan. Chriss is still figuring things out. Like Len, it might take some time for him to come into his own.

Chriss game was nice. Consistency will make me a believer.

What Booker did in the last couple minutes is why he is my favorite player

*side note: I watched the first half of the Bucks game. Bledsoe stat line 2 pt 4 fouls. I dont miss those frustrating nights from him.

Hope the league reviews that final play of the Bucks game and make them play an overtime.

Credit to Chriss for having a strong game. Hope to see more like that from him.
