I'd put a lot of money on DeAnthony Melton being as good as, if not better, than Rozier is now during his 4th year in the league.
I wouldn't be surprised if both DeAnthony and Elie are better than Rozier.

Wonder what we’d be giving up. What would New Orleans want?

You're getting ahead of yourself a bit there!

From all reports, trading for ball seems to be a real possibility, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to discuss what pieces we’d be including in the deal. I’m not saying it’s happening, but it could.

Lonzo Ball does 3 things we need well, defense, rebounding, passing. However he's not great in the half court and I think he may take an overpayment to acquire given he's dont about as much as Jackson at this point in the NBA. That worries me. A JJ for Ball swap makes the most sense, but if adding 1st rounders is something we have to do, that seems cost prohibitive.

Agreed. JJ is a SF version of Ball in a sense. And they're both similar shooters/scorers. It'd be tough to have them out there together. My question is are we a running team (Lonzo's strength) or a halfcourt team (Booker/Ayton's strengths).

I’d guess it’d take a wing and maybe another asset. Maybe that’s the Milwaukee pick, maybe that’s okobo. Bridges would be off limits. I could get behind a warren, JJ, or Oubre swap.

Lonzo would be terrific for Ayton. All of those entry passes our guards are too inept or short to make would be right on the money.

We should end up with Holiday or Ball in this chaos. If our management can't swing one or the other in something like this, they suck. I think you should be able to offer something like a couple picks as the sweetener to get either. I'm leaning towards Ball, as we DON'T want to take away from the offensive productivity of Booker. A scoring point guard that has to fight for time with the ball in their hands vs. Booker is going to be a fail. I fear Holiday falls into that category, but Lonzo doesn't. i'm seeing a 10-12/8 mix with Lonzo…sure, he's more like a 40% shooter...but do we care w/Ayton...Booker...etc.? What are we missing...a creator...Ball gives us that. I'm not sure about that w/Holiday.

Now...beyond that...I think a Lonzo or Holiday would be an upgrade vs. what we have currently and things change for the better...shrug.

We'll see...

I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how the Lakers match AD's salary in a trade without having KCP agreeing to a trade.

The best thing I can put together for matching salaries is this.

Suns: Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart
Lakers: Anthony Davis
Pelicans: Josh Jackson, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Mo Wagner, Michael Beasley

That's a 6-for-1 trade for the Lakers, which is insane.

I don't think trading for Ball was what he meant by getting ahead of yourself. You're talking about a trade with NO while Ball is still on the Lakers.

It shouldn’t be that hard to connect the dots

•AD hires Klutch as his agency
•Lebron says he’d love to play with AD
•AD’s agent publically demands a trade
•AD reportedly will treat anyone but the Lakers as a 1 year stop
•Ball reportedly does not want to play for NO
•Ball and the suns reportedly have mutual interest in each other

Hence the question, what would New Orleans want from us instead of Ball?

New Orleans may decide not to trade AD right now, so ya that would effectively kill any Ball to Phoenix scenarios, but this is a sports message board, there are legitimate reports that ball to Phoenix is a possibility. Seems very silly to call me out for asking what we’d be giving up in a theoretical deal. People make fake trade ideas all the time that have zero chance of happening. There is some actual legs to this.

New Orleans may not want Ball or someone else from the Lakers instead, or may look to trade somewhere else over the summer instead.

TJ and the Bucks pick for Ball and whatever salary filler is needed. I think JJ would thrive with a distributor like Ball, and there is no way in hell they'll give up Bridges.

Suns need to make that call. I doubt we offer what they want...hard to make it work financially without Ryan Anderson involved, but I’d offer Warren/Bender/Daniels/Okobo or Melton/Top 1 protected 1st for him.

Probably need to get a third team involved as I’d guess they’d be interested in picks and prospects, not 3.5 years of TJ Warren

It's clear that the Suns need to do something. This has turned into a buyer's market for PGs and there are three really intriguing options on the table. If Interim GM Wonder-Twins and Sarver can't land one of them, this franchise is just a joke.
