While being escorted out of the building by Phoenix police, Whitely allegedly chest-bumped an officer, trying to push him backward.
He has been charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespassing.
That tweet is clickbait, but I guess it worked.
As much as I dislike Sarver as an owner, people shouldn't be allowed to freely curse him out in public, let alone in his own building. There are ways to express displeasure without being vulgar, and I think this guy probably deserved to be removed from the arena.

He shouldn’t have treated the police or security that way. Not trying to say that was ok. I’m glad he gave Sarver an earful. He was doing what most people here would want to do to to Sarver.
Sarver isn’t the victim here. The fans are

He's a renter at best, no? A temporary one at that since the city owns TSR and will continue to long after Sarver finally sells.

Not really Sarver’s building, but doesn’t matter. If the guy was shouting obscenities and refused to stop, removing him was reasonable; if he willfully became physical with an officer while being removed, arresting him was reasonable.

I've been a big TJ Warren defender. But this season has convinced me that he's easily replaceable and that we would probably be better off trading him if we could be rid of his salary and/or get an asset back for him.
I wonder what the market is for him? He's on a decent salary if his 3-point shot is legit. We'd just need another team to buy that it is and that his injury concerns are behind him with 10 months of rest (by the time the season starts since he hasn't played since late January.)
His 3-pt shot won't be a question anymore. And scoring was never the question. Only 50 guys in the entire league scored +18ppg.
It will be his ability to be on the court, and that is a huge question mark. I doubt the market will be that interested in him, especially if we aren't.
You're probably right. He may just be a salary number that fits in a trade, but he does have value. It was tough with this team, since we had 3 other small forwards and they brought more on both sides of the court and TJ wasn't a good enough rebounder or defender to slide over to the PF. He will be a tremendous 6th man for a team. Kind of like Lou Williams has turned out to be.
I like his game but the way he plays, he always on the floor and wont have a long career as it is. I think he knows it. Trade him plus late picks for a veteran pg if we draft Ja.
Dudes a legend in my book. I agree with you shouldn’t be allowed to treat other humans that way but it’s Sarver. And f*** him.
This actually made a news site here in Indy. Most people were probably like, “who are the Suns?”
According to a highly credible anonymous Reddit user , Sarver had not even arrived yet when this guy was yelling. If true (big if), the respect I have for the guy drops dramatically. Just sounds like an angry drunk.

Superbone - I'm going to guess that you, like me, grew up with MacLeod as head coach the large majority of that time.
He always conducted himself like a gentleman and was a terrific coach. RIP Coach MacLeod.

You are correct, sir. He was the first Suns coach I remember. I went to the Phoenix Suns basketball camp as a kid and MacLeod ran some sessions. I still remember learning from him to wear double socks when playing basketball which I still do to this day. I still vividly remember watching the triple OT thriller in my parents den with thick, red shag carpet.
More cushion for the pushin’. It prevents blisters. I recently bought a pair of NBA socks that the players wear for $30 for one pair. It’s basically the equivalent of two pairs around your foot and ankle.
I was three years old when he was hired and 17 when he was fired. It was surreal. I just couldn’t conceive of the Suns not being coached by MacLeod. Joe Proski’s exit was also surreal. And leaving AVMC.
When JC made his exit, it wasn’t just surreal, it was traumatic.
The day is going to come when I listen to a Suns game on the radio and the voice I hear will not be Al McCoy.

The blisters part is a big thing about doubling up socks, but that's only if you wear cotton only socks. It's because they hold sweat. If you wear the latest synthetic socks, they wick moisture away from the foot and you won't get blisters, need to double up or buy $30 per pair of socks.
