Cap to chime in shortly comparing a washed up Euro D-league player we haven't heard of with better per 36 numbers that only actually averaged 6 minutes per game.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 2:14 pmList of NBA players averaging 18/12 and 1.5 blocks this season:The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:37 amAyton since returning to the starting lineup vs. the Knicks on Jan. 16 -

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Not only just his 2nd year, but he's just getting his 2nd year started, and his production keeps going up this season.AmareIsGod wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 3:46 pmJoin the club. Cap has a spot next to him for you to take a seat and pile on the hate. Damn 2nd year 21 year old disappointment.
Since 1973, Ayton is the only Phoenix Suns player besides Charles Barkley to average 12 rebounds per game.

James Jones making sure the starters average 40 plus minutes a game from here out.

Maybe Bender or Thomas coming?
Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
So much for that veteran leadership. I guess James Jones couldn't find any assets for an expiring contract or they're going to try and plan the FA game this summer.
Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
They recalled Jalen Lecque from the GLeague so he's taking the spot for now I think.

It’d be nice to have a GM who demonstrates a plan that is actually understandable.
We’re going to build through the draft. No. We’re going to build through free agency because we don’t like to draft. No. We’re going to acquire pieces through trades because we have trade pieces. No. We’re going to build through the draft because we didn’t make any trades...

Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
that would make sense Shel
Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Well that TJ trade was lauded because of his huge expiring contract this year. We did nothing with it.
This team finds new ways of disappointing me.

Let's not be overly sensitive. I don't think anyone is piling on the "hate."AmareIsGod wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 3:46 pmJoin the club. Cap has a spot next to him for you to take a seat and pile on the hate. Damn 2nd year 21 year old disappointment.

These "the only other players to average _______" posts remind me of when Eric Bledsoe was here and we were treated to the statistical insights of how only LeBron James puts up comparable averages as Bledsoe.

So you’re telling me Ayton doesn’t remind you of Bob McAdoo?

A $20m expiring contract ain't what it used to be.

Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Bledsoe, in all his years here, never had a standout game to me. Never seemed to dominant anyone he was matched up with. That's the difference when you talk about Bledsoe and Ayton. Ayton has had, in my opinion, several such games. And he's only a season and half into his career.

Re: Suns News: Week 15 2/3-2/9
We absolutely should feel better about Ayton than we ever did about Bledsoe.
But the whole "the only other players to average _______" accolades do nothing for me, and ultimately they don't really capture true impact and value.
For instance, how many players in NBA history averaged at least 29 points and 9 assists per game? Five. Trae Young, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Tiny Archibald, and Oscar Robertson. That's great. But I wouldn't even rank Trae Young as a top 5 player this season.
