The 7-10 days up to the trade deadline is the silly season. Rosters are influx, agents are in players ears and players are searching their own name on Twitter. All that stuff leads to weird basketball except for the teams who know they’re ready for a deep run at the title.

Not to mention it is right before the all-star break. It really should be after the break, at least a few days. It gives GMs time to work their magic while the players are not in meaningful games and the GMs can do it face to face. Also, it is just stupid when you trade a guy playing the game to a new team.

Yeah, I thought the change was dumb, too. They said they did it so that the all-star weekend wasn't marred by worrying about being traded. But it's even worse if an all-star WAS traded, especially out of the conference. Now what team does he play for? And, as you say, the GMs can't get deals done as easily if they can't meet up. Very poor decision.

Overall, I am not sure why you need a trade deadline before the playoffs start. How awesome would that be to be able to make moves right up until the last day of the season? I think it would help limit tanking if you didn't have to choose 60% through the season if you need to blow it up or not.

Inexcusable loss. Pistons ain't got offensive firepower like that. Despite the Suns injuries, ya' gotta play better defense than that.

I liked Aytons offense...but his defense I found offensive...HIYOoooooo.

But yeah nice offensive numbers. I can’t criticize his defense because he never attempted any.

I mean why make any trades to improve? This team is so close
I guess those 4 blocks were by accident then.
How about Drummond going 14-19 with seven ORB?
Looking for a post countering anything positive about Ayton? Look no further. Caps post history has all of the demoralizing negativity about Ayton you could hope for! I think 80% of what you post these days is an argument against anything good Ayton.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I think Cap is just trying to tamper expectations to a realistic level. Although, I do not speak for Cap.

He could also say something good about the guy. I feel like there are 10-15 other centers he'd rather have than Ayton. Is he so stubborn to even admit the guy is improving in almost area we've knocked him in since he's been drafted? Yes, he isn't consistent. Yes, he still has a lot of strides to make. But if he was just stagnant, not getting better, etc., then sure, be a Cap.

Hell, Lillard was averaging like 40-50 points a game for a week + and then had an 18 point game. Do you think the Blazers boards are melting down criticizing him for not being consistent? It seems like Ayton is under a microscope to dominate every game otherwise he's underwhelming and a bust to some people. As if every great player goes 82 games of dominance and amazement.

While I don't 100% agree with Cap, there's plenty to criticize about Ayton's play, and he can do so if he likes.

No he can't! I won't allow it. Enough, I say! Freedom of speech? Not around here! There's a new sheriff in town and I say, to the Ayton hate, shut, it, DOWN! Ayton is a perfect basketball player. Anyone that thinks otherwise is going on ignore.

There are some positives.

Lol let's not go there.

I think there is a place for constructive criticism without being unnecessarily harsh.

And let's aim higher than "fine" for only #1 pick. (I know you aren't saying that is where you are OK with him ending up Dack)
