Didn't follow Charlotte enough throughout the season but Charlotte didn't exactly look inspired/motivated during that play-in game. Borrego seems like a solid enough coach...maybe there's someone out there MJ thinks can do better.
Not sure why MikeD would want to coach the Kings. He'll be 71 in a few weeks and Gentry can probably tell him what a shitshow the org is.

Yeah I wonder if that is a list they said they wanted to interview, or those guys actually had their agents tell the Kings they wanted it. Big difference.

I watched a lot (too much?) of the Hornets because I had Ball, Rozier, and Washington on my fantasy team. They were the poster child for million dollar talent with a ten cent brain. I honestly think Borrego tried all he could. He routinely benched low IQ guys like Ball and Oubre, but it ultimately didn't move the needle because it's hard to break the bad habits of NBA players. Kupchack also gave him Mason Plumlee as a 'starting' Center and traded for another low IQ guy in Montrezl Harrell when it was clear Plumlee can't handle that role. Harrell couldn't handle it either, to no one's surprise.
I think Gentry likes being in Sacramento and the odds are pretty high he's recruiting D'Antoni so he can return to his best role as an assistant. Both guys have never been shy of getting elbows deep in organizational disfunction.

This seems wrong to me. Barnes is special, but I think when we look back on this draft class, Mobley will clearly be the guy we see as the best player. Did they take Barnes mostly because Mobley missed too many games? It says here that Mobley played in 69 games, which seems like enough to me. He averaged 15 ppg on .508 FG, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists:

Barnes averaged fairly similar stats, actually: 15.3 ppg on .492 FG%, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while playing in 74 games:

Barnes finished strong and helped get Toronto to the 5 seed while Mobley was hurt and cleveland dropped out of the playoffs. Fair or not, I think that’s what made the difference. Both were awesome and deserving. Also Cade was probably the best rookie in the last couple months…he struggled to start and Detroit was irrelevant though.

Not a big Mark Jackson fan, but this is a cool play.

I don’t really believe there’s a conspiracy, but this stat just leaves me baffled…how does this happen?

I'm don't think I'd go so far as to say there's some conspiracy behind this either, but statistically, odd things pop up with this guy. The league needs to take a hard look at him because, at the very least, he has some sort of unintentional bias and needs to be retrained. And that's the best case scenario.

His connection to Donaghy is weird too…those two communicated daily back when Donaghy was betting on games.

I really didn't wanna post this
I think it takes away from other valid points as to why we lost but I've seen it a couple times this evening
So for those who entertain the conspiracy angles......

It just doesn't seem like he should have won this award. I thought Poole was a much better choice, even though I am not a big fan of the Warriors.
Ja was fantastic last yr, and ran away with the ROY. It wasn't surprising that he improved this year, but how much did he actually improve? The Grizz themselves played very well without him.

It's game 4 between Nets and Celtics and Nets have taken 29 foul shots vs 18 Celtics foul shots. Tatum is fouled out.

There was some questionable calls that went against Boston down the stretch, but it didn’t matter, Boston wins
