Does the BYC impact all season, or just if it is a S&T? Like if we match, can we then trade him later for full 30.9M+/-25% value?
BYC is out the window with a mid season trade. He’d count for his full salary.
That is good. But his ability to veto any trade is bad.

I wonder what the Pacers will do with the $30M of cap room if we match.
Nobody left to give it to. Unless they give it to Bridges.

I don’t think he’d veto…I think he’ll want to play anywhere that lets him. And most places trading for him would want to let him do his thing. He’s secured the money already so that wouldn’t be a factor.

Suns FO is stupid because Sarver won't be willing to pay Ayton for half a season (he can be traded after January 15th).
Not only that but Ayton gets veto power on any trade for a full year.

I also disagree. I think they match, begrudgingly.

Nothing. They have one of the slowest moving owners in the NBA not to mention being incredibly out of touch with their fanbase. They will save most of it and spin it as investing in their young guys blah blah please still buy our tickets though.

S&T not an option.
why? he hasn't signed anything
Neither team wants to. Suns want to keep him.

GAMBO SAYS SUNS MAY MATCH and are willing to spend $100M in luxury taxes to win a championship! Suns just told him this (the latter) on the phone! He had to leave his radio call-in in order to take the phone call.
In other words, the Suns are willing to pay Ayton AND Durant.

Matching an offer sheet was the easiest negotiation all along for the Suns and Ayton. If he only wanted the 5 year max and the Suns didn’t want to give him that then just waiting to match the 5 years deal was easier.

Kevin Ray (Suns employee...) says it would be "organizational suicide" to let Ayton walk.

Trust me Ayton doesn't want to come live here in Indiana. I've been here my whole life. It's the drizzling shits.

Hearing all of the right stuff via media play. Let's see where the Suns go from here. If Ayton is matched, I would offer all expirings plus Cam Johnson for LeBron.

Not saying K-Ray knows anything, but would he say something like that if he thought there was any chance of it happening?

My best guess is that the Suns are strong-arming the Pacers for a better S&T. My asking price would be Turner + 3 FRPs

Wonder why Indiana would stretch those guys without a strong feeling the Suns won't match.

It's Sarver's reputation helping us keep Ayton. (Hoping!)
