Oof
We fucked, boys. Down 3 starters including an MVP candidate.
Tell that to last night's team.

We got 'em right where we want 'em.

It's going to be pretty fun when this team starts peaking in March.

Do I really need to tell you that's not sustainable over a long period of time?

We should consider moving CP3 if he has any value
Would you want to pay $30M for this version of CP3?

I think there would be teams who wouldn’t be concerned about the money…they’d have to send money back…Like I think Minny would certainly do a D-lo for CP3 trade. As much as their team/fans have turned on him, he’d make sense in New Orleans too.

Remember next year is only half guaranteed and the following year is not guaranteed

I wouldn’t count on that quite yet. 2023-24 year becomes fully guaranteed on 6/28/23.

Which means you can get out of it if you need to. I don’t think the suns would do that. Most likely they bring him back for 23-24, but I’d be pretty surprised if that 24-25 year is picked up.

Nah, they showed me tonight.

Even if Jones was willing to do it (and he isn't), I don't think there is a market for CP3. Maybe Chicago? Maybe Washington?
He does nothing for Minnesota.

You don’t think he helps them get value out of Rudy?

I do feel like this makes a potential trade any time soon less likely, our leverage in any Jae Crowder trade is probably shot right now, every team will be operating like we are desperate and try to take advantage and James Jones seems perfectly content not to play that game.
ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 2:14 pm
I don't think we've lost any leverage. He hasn't been playing for us this entire time. Best case for us is another role player on a playoff team getting injured and them needing someone like Jae (not to wish harm on other players).
I don't think they have lost leverage either, but at the same time, they really didn't have any in the first place.

I think their season is too far gone, unless you want a Hayward for Paul swap.

I could see a team like Charlotte trading for him in the summer and declining the $15M option. Then he could sign the vet minimum with the Lakers.
