Got it. And that makes more sense.ShelC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 12:08 pmIdeally it'd be Book sharing ballhandling duties with another guard that can handle and run some offense but also score and shoot. We looked good with him and Payne, but maybe someone with more size and consistency. I wouldn't put him in a backcourt with a pure SG that can't do anything but score or a 3-D SG like Okogie where Book is 100% PG.

Years ago I was terrified of the narratives around Point Book modeling his game after James Harden. I am so grateful to see Book play as a pure shooting guard who can score in a high number of ways without dominating the ball. I just don’t want to watch Luka ball or Harden play that way. I love Luka as a player but I still think there is a better balance he will one day be made to play in before he wins anything significantly.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 12:40 pmI'm with you, INF.INFORMER wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 11:27 amFlagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 6:17 pmMy hope is that the Suns make moves that eventually gets to point-Booker in their best lineup.I can't believe so many of you want this. I would trade for Siakam under the right circumstances. But I'm not really convinced that a Booker/Bridges/Siakam core is a title team core. It may be. I am not an expert on Siakam and should learn more about his game. I do worry that we would still need help running the offense and also with defending against the league's best big men. And I think we would want to stock that roster with 3-and-D wings to fill it out.

That Dallas team is screwed if Luka gets injured. Reminds me of our Nash years but potentially much worse.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 2:02 pmYears ago I was terrified of the narratives around Point Book modeling his game after James Harden. I don’t know if it’s a title team either, but it’s a lot closer than Booker/Bridges/Johnson/Ayton and I don’t think we can afford to waste any prime Booker years. I’d get him here and hope it either works great or works well enough that we’d remain a destination for other players.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 3:33 pmI would trade for Siakam under the right circumstances. I hope new ownership wants to win with Book. If so, it’s easy to assume he needs a true running partner.

I would imagine that Ishbia wants to take advantage of Book's window and has deep enough pockets to make it happen.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 4:42 pmI hope new ownership wants to win with Book. If so, it’s easy to assume he needs a true running partner.

He basically said we’re in a lot of trouble. Called out the Chris Paul decline, implied JJ waited too long to move Jae and said if Booker is out for a month we’re probably too far back to compete.

Seems like you’re misunderstanding the vision. I’m not advocating for turning Booker into a PG.INFORMER wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 11:27 amFlagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 6:17 pmMy hope is that the Suns make moves that eventually gets to point-Booker in their best lineup.I can't believe so many of you want this. I’d like to see them add more size in the backcourt by moving Booker to the de facto PG position and replacing Paul with someone like DeRozan or LaVine, for example. A Jrue Holiday and Marcus Smart type would also be great and puts less ball handling on Bookers plate.
I just don’t want to see them go with another smallish offensive minded PG unless it’s a special player like Garland.

Don't trade the Suns' pick this year, it's not like we will have the 30th pick anymore. Real possibility of resting and tanking at this rate
Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/2 - 1/8)
It doesn’t make sense to trade the 2023 pick in a package with multiple picks right now. If we wait and use the pick, we would get the player and then we’d still be able to trade 4 1sts again this summer. With that pick looking like at least a mid 1st at this point, I’d make that pick and then swing for a star in the summer. Now that doesn’t mean I’d say no if Siakam was available, but I think moving that 1st in a package for say Kyle Kuzma would be a bad idea.
