Essentially this signing rejuvenated my excitement and I'm back to having hope for this team. Totally changes the dynamic of the roster. Just sad we won't have his bird rights so it's almost a guarantee he'll be a one year rental

I don’t understand the trip people have over Book playing the 3 when he is bigger than Grayson Allen already and a savvy defender. Beal, Book, and KD will hit open shots all day. Yall forget how lights out the Suns were with JJ and QRich with Nash? This offense is gonna set up its defense in much better position without giving up all the turnovers and taking bad shots. Teams are going to have to take the ball out from now on.
There may be times the Suns will struggle with size, they’ll have to figure it out.
But we know Beal, Book and KD guys aren't great C+S players. JJ and QRich were complementary guys and knockdown shooters playing off of Nash and Amar'e. Book's supposed to be the #1 option.
I don't think Book will be relegated to just standing and shooting, but we're working him at a different spot that takes him away from what he does best - same as last year. Do we want him running to and working out of the corner? Chances are there will be a lot more movement and action from Bud's offense, but it's still not ideal. Allen and O'Neal are ideal 3-D guys, who thrive in that role. The complaint was that we didn't shoot enough 3s last year, now we're taking Allen/O'Neal out of the starting lineup.

Yeah I think Jones will steady the ship and cut down on turnovers and reduce the physical strain on Book Beal or KD in bringing the ball up the court against pressure but I’m not seeing him as the engine of the offense with multiple creative PnR schemes a la Monty/CP3. If Book and KD can become more of willing C&S guys it might actually reduce the wear and tear on their bodies. But that’s a big if.

They were great C&S guys yesterday for the Olympic team…they are very capable…it’s just willingness. And they won’t be resigned to just catch and shoot by any means. Tyus Jones isn’t Nash, he’s also not CP3. He helps give our offense some stability, but those other 3 will likely still be initiating a lot of sets.

If bud can get Beal to come off the bench he’s worth every penny he’s paid as the head coach.
Might even start Dunn if that can happen. And let Nurk try to take a couple of threes.
Unless Dunn learns to shoot in the next three months, we’d basically be playing with four men on offense.
It’s not like last season Book or KD actually made any use of teammates anyway. Maybe I should have more faith in Bud.
Pickle, why are you trying to trade our best backup power forward?!
Nah, I agree. Allen, O'Neale, and Okogie all have very tradeable salaries. I expect at least one of them to be traded this season. Hopefully 2 of them. Maybe together with Nurk? I do expect some moves mid season.

Book’s game was not ideal last year either; he does well when he can get back to making quick scores from either beating his guy in transition, getting to the elbow in a couple dribbled. Beal, Book, and KD will hit open shots all day. Yall forget how lights out the Suns were with JJ and QRich with Nash? This offense is gonna set up its defense in much better position without giving up all the turnovers and taking bad shots. Teams are going to have to take the ball out from now on.

If Beal isn’t an ace 3 point shooter on good looks then I will agree with you. But the hope is there won’t be complaints if Book, Beal, and KD are all hitting open shots now that we have a ball handler and playmaker. The offense sucked last year because the actions never led to easy shots and were too easy to defend. KD had to either create his own shot or stand around and hope the ball swung to him for a good look. I think we will see a faster pace with guys getting good looks especially in transition.
Regardless Beal will still get to cook with the bench mob.

I’m not as down on Beal…he actually evolved the most and sacrificed the most last year. Now Book and KD need to do the same. Beal played better defense…played more off the ball, and I think we overlook that he shot 43% from 3 last year. 44% from the corners…He had a bad series and an absolutely awful game 4, but he had found a good role.
I think him coming off the bench would help rotations, but I also know that’s not likely to happen. It’s also not crucial…we can take him out early and bring him back to run the 2nd unit(with Morris likely).
I do worry about size overall, but mostly because 6 of our top 8 are 6’5 and under. We don’t have a great option to keep our best players always on the court…we’ll have to sacrifice talent for size a lot.

Glad he’s willing to sacrifice. Coming off the bench is just one more sacrifice. And it might not even be a sacrifice. He can still get starter minutes. Indeed, that would mean we’d have two of our Big 3 on the floor almost all the time (when healthy). Opposing defenses would never get any rest. And Beal would be the #2 option instead of the #3 option, which might suit him better.

We can't underestimate the value of having a different offensive system with Bud running it. I'll preference this by saying, that we haven't seen them in action yet, but it should be more free flowing with more weakside movement that doesn't just devolve into the guys taking turns running iso plays over and over expecting to make tough shots the entire game and/or turning it over.

I’m looking forward to Book getting back to all those easy ways he used to score out in transition or simply beating his man to his spots. It used to be he didn’t have to do much creating off the dribble. I think the same will go for the rest of everyone. I just hope Nurk is ready to rebound and throw the ball ahead.

And don't forget throw up bricks around the hoop with that "deft" touch of his.

Let’s hope he just has to make outlet passes only and gets a career high in defensive rebounds.
