Elfrid Payton dropped 21 assists today.
Good for him. Glad he makes himself relevant every now and then.

Someone explain to me to how what Lamelo said was twice as bad as what Vanvleet did. Not defending Lamelo, his fine was deserved. But Vanvleet got off light.

Vanvleet's actions seemed aggressive toward the refs. I'm surprised he didn't get a game suspension.

I think the league not doing anything is going to negatively affect him indefinitely. Refs are petty, have a long memory, and they stick up for each other.

I think they let Van Vleet off pretty lightly too, but I don't have any problem with the fine that Ball got. Using perjorative language toward any group while on work time should be discouraged at any workplace. Doing it when the cameras are rolling is just being stupid.
I'm not saying that when I was at his age I didn't do the same sort of thing, but society has changed in the last 40 years since then and that kind of ignorance isn't tolerated like it once was.

It's one think to not suspend him if he didn't make contact with the official, but all he really got was a slap on the wrist.

The refs are a target lately:

I didn't see the angle on FVV but it looked like he poked/made contact with the ref which should be an automatic suspension. The league admitted the refs messed up tho and pretty much said FVV was justified in his reaction.
Bottom line is that the refs have been pretty bad to start the year, calling things very unevenly from quarter to quarter.

Good to know the players can poke the refs now. Just no closed fists I guess. And maybe above the waist.

There was an angle which showed FvV didn’t make contact but I think he still should have got a suspension. You can’t be that aggressive towards a ref - if that’s the acceptable line now someone will go over it and there could be a very bad outcome.
