He's like a 14 yr old on social media. Great talent but can't wait til he's gone.
His arrival has brought nothing but pain and disappointment.
I hope Mat Ishbia learns to SLOW DOWN and really think through his actions and get his basketball people's honest opinions before acting. Giving up the farm (we sure didn't get happy on it) for KD was one thing but blowing through the 2nd Apron with a redundant piece and hamstringing our near future while losing the one leader on the team is quite another.

FIFY.
I'm not sure he has that in him. Being a 15th man in college along with his ego, probably has him wanting to be hands on. Pretty sure Sarver was as well with even less knowledge. He should be the tie-breaker at most. He has already proven his follies.

I remember when he bought the team people saying he was a basketball mind because he used to play.
So did Isiah Thomas. And Michael Jordan. And Magic Johnson. Anybody want to put one of those guys in charge of the franchise?

People crap on James Jones, but Jones showed great restraint by NOT biting on the KD deal before Ishbia showed up. Jones knew that the price was too high, that we were giving up too much for a questionable short-term reward. Ishbia buys the team and immediately overrules him, setting us on the crash course we are now on. I hope we don't forget that Jones didn't want to do this, didn't want to take us here.

People don't remember that Jones didn't do anything at all. From the finals run to the year after and year after he didn't make any moves of any relevance despite us desperately needing some high end bench players except for trade for fucking Torrey Craig every year.

This was a common complaint but what moves could have been made? Every year fans wanted Thaddeus Young or Keldon Johnson and it would've cost us a lot more than they were worth. I also think his hands were tied due to the pending sale of the team.

It's not our job to figure out how to make the moves happen. Every other team was finding creative means to add around the edges except Phoenix. It's literally his job and it's performance based.
We'll never know if Sarver hamstrung that but Jones publicly said he didn't anyway.

The Mavericks were geniuses last year. This year they are morons.

Didn’t do anything? Umm, JJ made a big boy move and traded a 1st for Landry Shamet.
Fun fact: Herb Jones and Aaron Wiggins were both taken after that pick. Both much better than Shamet was. Day’Ron Sharpe who the nets took with the pick, would also be a big help right now.

This isn't fair. Hate Ishbia all you want, but he is a proven businessman. The basketball mind statement was made to separate him from other NBA owners/businessmen, who by and large did not play nor understand the game of basketball. I guess you'd rather go back to the Sarver days.

Being critical of Ish doesn’t mean approving of Sarver. Where do you get that nonsense?
