We're not that far away from contending. We're only one roster away!
A place for fans of the Phoenix Suns

I could have told you that, and did, way before this article came out. (Not you specifically)TOO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:19 amBasically for anyone who thinks that Ishbia will rebuild the old fashioned way you need to let that dream die. Never gonna happen.BigLewy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 7:43 amReally long ESPN article on the Suns with quotes from Booker and Ishbia. Any Booker trade speculation can end. Too long to paste, but a good read.

“It’s crazy to value tomorrow, today is what counts” is a great message when you’re trying to loan people money. This isn’t the mortgage business, Ish.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:26 amGroan."It's surprising to me that other people, other fans, they actually like the rebuild process," Ishbia said, disdain dripping from his voice as the final word of that sentence comes out of his mouth. "Like, 'Oh, let's rebuild it.' Are you crazy?! You think I'm going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today. I want us to win today, and we're going to try.
It is absolutely ridiculous that Ishbia doesn't already have "enough data and evidence that it didn't work". He really believes in his heart of hearts that this team can still make it work?! Come on, man. I understand optimism quite well but that is the very definition of unbridled optimism."I still believe in our team. I still believe in Coach Budenholzer. I believe in the guys we have. And at the same time, at the end of the season, if we don't get to where we expect to get to, I'll have enough data and evidence that it didn't work or it did work. And then we'll make decisions based on that."
What would you expect him to say in a very public interview? C'mon now.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 12:08 pmIt is absolutely ridiculous that Ishbia doesn't already have "enough data and evidence that it didn't work". I'd expect him to say something that doesn't make him sound like a moron.TOO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 2:16 pmWhat would you expect him to say in a very public interview? INF is rolling in his grave."It's surprising to me that other people, other fans, they actually like the rebuild process," Ishbia said, disdain dripping from his voice as the final word of that sentence comes out of his mouth. In this case I expect him to say what he really thinks, because it’s consistent with his actions. That attitude of “do you really think people care about seven years from now?” isn’t something he said because it’s what you’re supposed to say in a public interview, it’s something he said because it’s how he thinks, as evidenced by his behavior.TOO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 2:16 pmWhat would you expect him to say in a very public interview?
