We're not that far away from contending. We're only one roster away!

Really long ESPN article on the Suns with quotes from Booker and Ishbia. Any Booker trade speculation can end. Too long to paste, but a good read.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/442 ... oenix-suns
Basically for anyone who thinks that Ishbia will rebuild the old fashioned way you need to let that dream die. Never gonna happen.
I could have told you that, and did, way before this article came out. (Not you specifically)

Just some defenders, rebounders, passers and shooters, won't take much.

Yep! All the infrastructure is there. Now we just need a good team.

Ishbias quotes from that just assured my feelings that he still doesn’t get it. Can’t get out of the way of his own ego.

"It's surprising to me that other people, other fans, they actually like the rebuild process," Ishbia said, disdain dripping from his voice as the final word of that sentence comes out of his mouth. "Like, 'Oh, let's rebuild it.' Are you crazy?! You think I'm going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today. I want us to win today, and we're going to try.
Groan.
“It’s crazy to value tomorrow, today is what counts” is a great message when you’re trying to loan people money. This isn’t the mortgage business, Ish.

I wonder if y'all would still be complaining if the team was good lol. I'd guess not.

"I still believe in our team. I still believe in Coach Budenholzer. I believe in the guys we have. And at the same time, at the end of the season, if we don't get to where we expect to get to, I'll have enough data and evidence that it didn't work or it did work. And then we'll make decisions based on that."
It is absolutely ridiculous that Ishbia doesn't already have "enough data and evidence that it didn't work". He really believes in his heart of hearts that this team can still make it work?! Come on, man. I understand optimism quite well but that is the very definition of unbridled optimism.

I don't blame the player for being happy he has a no trade clause.

I blame the team for giving up too much in a trade to get that player.

What would you expect him to say in a very public interview? C'mon now.

Can't bring myself to read that article. Thanks for the recaps. I'm glad Book is off the table in deals. I just hope we can put a competitive team around him again soon.

In this case I expect him to say what he really thinks, because it’s consistent with his actions. That attitude of “do you really think people care about seven years from now?” isn’t something he said because it’s what you’re supposed to say in a public interview, it’s something he said because it’s how he thinks, as evidenced by his behavior.

Trade them them all bar Book.
Beal’s contract is the worst ever. As is his attitude of ‘I’m alright Jack!’
KD playing Billy big balls and making us bend over for him.
Sod them both.
Get them gone.
Start again with a mindset of building a proper bloody team with real men!
