Yeah, I’m coming to the conclusion that I don’t think he’s someone we can build a team around. It’s a tough pill to swallow but I think that’s where I’m at now. I’m happy to be proven wrong though. I miss 2020-2022 Booker.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 3:30 pmBarkley did it 12 times in his 4 years with the suns…This was Bookers 7th time in the last 4 years.iLLmatic wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 3:20 pmCool so he’s inconsistent. I can’t imagine Barkley putting up 10 points and everyone being okay with it. I really like Booker, I think he gets a pass too easily though.
So he does it twice a season…but ya let’s ship him out for it

I think that Booker could come back. I’m not exactly opposed to trading Booker, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense this summer. I want to see what we can put around him first.

Unfortunately "Point Book" doesn't work. They end up standing around too much as he pounds the ball at the top of the circle. They run into the same problem when they have Durant going one-on-one too often.

Team is 9-5 when Booker has 10 assists or more

Suns are 35-40 after tonight.
This needs a big fix, not a small one.

I’m not saying it does…I just don’t have the same feelings about point book. You came for it not working and I don’t think that’s the problem…data shows we play better when he’s at the point.

I think Book has played well as point this season. He's avoiding the trap better, which has been his primary issue. He's been making great reads and delivering solid passes while keeping turnovers low (except for the past 2-3 games where he has had several "wtf are you doing!?" moments with his passing). I contend that one of the reasons the team is worse this year than last is Tyus Jones; he has not been good. He is shooting the 3 well, but outside that, he has been terrible. He puts no pressure on the defense, doesn't make scoring passes, and doesn't even bother to try on defense.

You’re right Split, Booker is immune to criticism.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 3:30 pmBarkley did it 12 times in his 4 years with the suns…This was Bookers 7th time in the last 4 years.iLLmatic wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 3:20 pmCool so he’s inconsistent. According to StatMuse, Ant Edwards has had 32 games with <= 10 points since 2021.
In that same time span, Devin Booker has had 8 games with 10 or fewer points.
In that same time span, Donovan Mitchell has also had 8 games with 10 or fewer points.
You could probably do this game with other top SGs in the NBA. I don't see Booker as being problematic in this particular stat.

That's not data that supports Point Book. That is data that supports Booker passing and his teammates making shots. He doesn't have to play point guard to get assists. I think the Suns are 4-1 when Durant gets 8 or more assists. Time for Point KD?
