True, he had a very efficient night. I'd love to see more of that going forward.

I think you’ve nailed. And we have as well the best possible outcome for Green with Booker, so that’s another redundancy on role and price.Split T wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 10:08 amI think he’s good now…it’s all about salary and role…if he was making half his salary and playing a 6th man role, we’d all feel great about him.
Similarly, if Colin or Grayson were making 35 million a year, we’d likely be complaining about them non-stop…It’s all relative.

I can't do the salary thing anymore, too many dudes in the NBA aren't worth their money, just kinda par for the course now.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 4:29 pmHe's a good basketball player right now. He's just not $30M+ a year good, and I don't think he ever will be.
So just completely ignore the competitive advantage of prudent salary distribution? That's an easy way to ensure never winning a title.TOO wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 4:55 pmI can't do the salary thing anymore, too many dudes in the NBA aren't worth their money, just kinda par for the course now.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 4:29 pmHe's a good basketball player right now. It's not that, we're stuck with what we've got, gotta play the hand you're dealt as they say. Neither of the Suns top 2 players are worth anywhere near what they get paid, I fully get that, but as it stands, that's the cost of doing business. Good or bad.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 5:04 pmSo just completely ignore the competitive advantage of prudent salary distribution? I'm on the opposite side on this one. I think Brooks was a huge asset for us this season and that things haven't felt quite right since he has been out. Yes he had some real stinker games where he shot 4-16 or whatever. But we didn't have a reliable second scorer with Green, Allen, and others often out. So I don't 100% blame him. I am really looking forward to having him back and getting his energy and toughness back on the team. It has been great seeing other guys like Fleming and Dunn get more minutes, but I would usually rather have Brooks playing than guys like O'Neale, and even rather than Dunn in many situations. So I think he'll be a net positive when he comes back.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 4:28 amI gotta get this sacrilege out of my system before the game tonight.
Anyone else just not miss Brooks. I mean, it'll be nice to have a competent scorer and good defender. He's an upgrade from Dunn for sure. But the narrative for most of the season was how he set the tone for the Suns defense, and I don't think that's the case. He was a go-to scorer, but we really don't miss that, either.
Don't forget OG what Brooks has been doing outside of games since this summer. Being the first guy in the gym and last to leave. Booker talked last night after the game about how hard he works. All that stuff rubs off on the other guys too. The Villain Jr stuff with Gillespie. He's making an impact in a lot of ways other than on the court during games. I'll be looking forward to seeing how he integrates back into the team since our young guys are starting to make such a greater impact.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 7:05 amI'm on the opposite side on this one.
