I think I’d personally start Gillespie or Goodwin and bring Green off the bench if this is the final roster, but outside of needing to replace Green with a playmaker, I think it’s fairly balanced…at least compared to last year.

I think just a summer league plus training camp contract for now. Might get a 2-way deal. I assume Brea and Huntley could be back on 2-ways as well.

Right now I would say they have pretty good depth. They're lacking a superstar, but so are a lot of other teams.

The biggest problem is the Booker/Green pairing in the backcourt and that they need a real PG to run the team and create shots.

For me, I'm thinking ... 8th maybe? Here are teams that I think are better than the above roster:

OKC
Spurs
Nuggets
Rockets
Wolves
Warriors
Lakers (probably)

I think we would be better than the following West teams:

Jazz
Grizzlies
Kings
Pelicans
Clippers
Mavs
Blazers (maybe)

Our best hope would be that 1-2 teams above us, like maybe the Lakers or Wolves, take a step back due to their summer moves. But I don't see us being close to the top of the West.

We were never going to be at the top of the west. There’s so much offseason left that it doesn’t make much sense to me to try and rank, but I don’t think the west is shaping up as some gauntlet. No one is touching the Thunder/Spurs at the top and as long as Jokic is around, the nuggets will be better. But even they are looking at major money problems. The rockets, wolves, and lakers all have significant issues still. I don’t understand putting the Warriors above us unless you are just already assuming they have LeBron.

The team still needs work as I said above, but I think the talent has definitely improved from last years team. Just not 2033 unprotected worth of improvement.

Which is why we should not be trading our unprotected 1st round draft pick in 2033, which will be the era when OKC and the Spurs are finally fading, to become a marginally better fringe-playoff-team in 2027, a year in which they will be far better than we are. I'm so tired of every trade being "all-in" on such a mediocre team. The special secret of the 2025-26 team was that we found a way to be fun and competitive during the painful rebuilding days, NOT that we were somehow on track to be a real contender in 1-2 years. Management didn't understand what we had.

Green is the odd man out and the worst fit on the team. I really hope he's traded, but it feels like he wasn't healthy long enough for Gregory and Ishbia to change their minds on him.

I'm not high on giving away draft picks, but if Jaylen Brown really wants out, the Celtics could do worse than Green and a couple picks. Maybe then you pick up Anfernee Simons to fill the "Jalen Green" role off the bench.

And I like Jalen Green. I just recognize that Jaylen Brown is an elite player.
