Yea its hard to hate the dragon, even after what he did in the media which was unprofessional IMO.

I think what he did yesterday was wrong and a poor decision on his part and he is kinda admitting that here saying his words came out harsher then he intended.

That being said I have no problem rooting for him in Miami. Its alot easier then rooting for him in NY and GASP LA!

my sentiments exactly. i can almost swallow NY, but please basketball gods, no LA... i would have to reevaluate my entire world view if two straight favorite suns pgs went to the lakers. i would have to check and make sure i haven't done anything really bad in a past life to deserve that.

Definitely Lowry. I'd take him over Lillard. Wall's shooting and ball control is too shaky for me. Chris Paul is clearly a superior talent, but I don't believe you can win with him. Conley is more complete than Dragic, but I think Dragic can be more of an assassin on offense than Conley. Irving has taken a huge leap this year, but his defense and playmaking are still questionable.

i think to make a fair comparison we need to first define the premises of such a comparison... are we talking about "if i'm building a team for the next year and i have my selection of any pg, who would i take, the rest of the team a blank roster that will further be filled out based on pg selection" or, say, 5 years, or if the rest of the roster is already in place... it's pretty tough to make these straight up comparisons devoid of context, and a case can be made for many of the players on the list, especially if we look at specific skillsets. dragic was/is among the best at getting to the rim and getting a shot off, for that i've admired him for a few years now.

btw i don't mean to be singling you out inf. just so happens that i clicked on reply when reading your message.

personally i would worry a little about goran's age if i'm building a young team, but if i'm on a veteran team needing a push he would be one of my top choices. he is a great add for miami, except, well, wade's health is shot, and apparently bosh is following suit...

Any chance the Spurs find a way to get a good return on Tony Parker and his 45 million owed over the next 3 years, and bring in Goran? I know they wouldn't pay him 20 a season, but he seems like a great fit there. They only have like 4 guys under contract for next year too.

"Heavily"? You do realize the precious treasure Lakers pick is protected until pick 5, whereas the Heat pick is protected until 7, right?

And to answer your question, the fact that unprotected picks almost never change hands, the general direction I see that franchise moving in, and the fact that Goran Dragic was either going to leave us for nothing or, best case scenario, cost $20 million per year (way more than he's worth).

The Lakers pick is protected next year at top 3. Then top 1. Then unprotected.

The Heat pick is protected top 7 for two years, the unprotected in 2019.

Thing is, people keep calling Knight a rental. But Dragic was actually a rental, in that he's free to leave at the end of the year. In my eyes, we got lots of something for nothing. So I'm pleased.
