I noticed Dragic's mediocre game too. He's still figuring out his new team. But if he doesn't start having big performances, I bet MIA won't max him and then he'd leave for another team like LAL. B.Knight by contrast has acclimated more quickly here overall, though Dragic had had one really great game out of his 3 so far.

Exactly. The first time it is even possible to get a very good pick from them is 2019.

I wish that the league would make it illegal to put protection or limitations/conditions on picks conveyed in trades. Either trade your pick or don't. It's ridiculous to have top-N protection on a pick when you and your team have a huge say in whether your team is going to land in the top N. The most blatant recent case was the Warriors tanking at the end of the season in 2009(09? 10?) to make sure they kept their pick to draft Harrison Barnes. That was BS.

Meh, I am fine with it. If you are a good negotiator, you work in your own protections on their picks too.

I'm a believer in free trade, myself.

Yup. Aside from the fast break points, in the half court set it's him handing the ball to Wade and running to the corner. The only difference is who he's handing the ball too I guess.

From piecing everything together, I really think the whole disgruntled bit came about due to butting heads with Thomas and Dragic not thinking the team had his back. He went from wanting to re-sign to wanting out 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat.

Well from what I hear Thomas and Dragic did not get along, but Dragic still would of asked out had Thomas not been signed. He supposedly did not want to share PG duties with Eric although it seemed like the 2 got along fine on and off the court.

Norris Cole was 0-10 tonight in 23 minutes of play. Brutal. He had scored in double figures his first 3 games with the Pelicans and was shooting over 50%.
